Bug 2: I can't "right click" to open the MIDI Learn menu like on the video. Not in Reaper (Windows) at least. Nothing comes up that way. I tried CLAP, VST3, and VST2. Same on all formats. Right clicky brokey. EDIT: this just doesn't work in the demo version - which is odd because the MIDI control is available from the menu so it doesn't seem like an intentional limitation. Right click works fine in the full version.
oops. There was a typo in the manual filename. Fixed and now the manual shows as expected.
About the missing right click, i'll check this on Monday when back at work.

Luca

Cry Boy is missing from the KVR product database.
I can't add it to my favorites until it's there!

I love the new inductors in Cry Boy 1.1!

But I absolutely HATE the new graphics. It went from looking like a real wah to looking like something that would come with Fruity Loops. Why would you do that?

Please give us the original pedal GUI back. It doesn't feel like a real wah anymore, and hurts my brain to use.

With the 50% off it really is appealing. I love my BIAS FX2, but .. tempted. Gonna think about it :D

Note to developers, I'd love to see a 2D/3D FX foot controllers. Wah is 1D (up/down) I'd love a left/right to also control something akin to resonance or even assign to yet another parameter, in a fashion like the Touche hardware but on foot. I believe guitar controllers need a refresh, like what we've been seeing for synths for a while now.
I too dream of this, but the only thing I'm aware of that's a controller only is the db Instruments 4e dual axis pedal, and frankly, it was uncomfortable for me to use. The problem is, the ankle joint doesn't really rotate really well, and it was hard to get the full range in that one. Maybe if they'd constrained it to a smaller angle. It also only spit out analog, so no USB or MIDI of any type.

What I think would be really cool, would be a wah that was also pressure sensitive. I had a Korg processor that had a spring loaded foot button that allowed you to control parameters by leaning your weight on it and it worked really well, though you couldn't park it. I think if you put that type of tech on a standard pedal and had a controllable threshold for pressure, you could really have something.

It doesn’t look like that anymore.

The Cry Boy pedal no longer aligns with the position of your foot controller pedal, because with v1.1, the pedal fulcrum is in the dead center of the virtual pedal now. It totally throws you off when you try to use it. If a real pedal moved like that, you’d break your ankle.

The original graphics need to be restored, because right now the visual feedback is throwing off my expected results when I try to control it.

It used to work really well before the GUI “update”.

First, happy to see my post from 2 years ago :hihi:
Though things seem not to have changed since, still haven't seen cool new multiD foot pedals for studio or stage :(
With your added pressure idea plus 3 directions it could easily be a 4D pedal to control multiple parameters and create ultra expressive guitar sounds.
I am in China and I know a manufacturer I can pass the idea on to.
The only alternative I use for now is to create macro controls assigned to multiple parameters, and control the macro with the foot pedal. Not 4D, but still very cool !

I think the main hurdle is getting the ergonomics right. The 4e failed because it assumed that people's ankles could do a 45 degree outward turn, and it just ended up feeling awkward. Someone needs to research joint kinematics before they just go and making a pedal.

Or before they go changing the pedal GUI on their wah pedal plugin…

A video too, if you can handle the presenter..

Yeah, it looks like it should be called Fruity Wah now. 🤮

McLovin really f’d it up.

The pedal looks nice for a plugin. What is it that you don't like about it, jamcat?
