Anyone that lip synch (of any skin color or music genres) should be fired & banned from the entertainment field altogether!!!

ie. Milli Vanilli, because they're black, got shut down so hard that one guy ended up committing suicide; however when cute white girls do it, they only get to be the butt of a few jokes while we continue putting them on TV and buying their albums.

Before her breast was exposed at last season Super Bowl, I bet the same kind of people has a problem with Janet lip synching in her proformance but again had no beef with Britney doing it at pervious Super Bowls or award shows.

Ok, Tony...I take your point. Much easier to understand put this way.

I think the labels have to take some of the blame though. They are primarily responsible for the "appearance before performance" direction the industry has taken over the years. Time was when you could be butt ugly, but if you could write and play you had an audience.

Oh man, this would take to long to fully explain

Milli Vanilli were crushed from the critics and others because they wanted them to actually falt at something. Not sure how old you are, but they were IT back in the day, and some little "oops" caused their demise. Remember c@c music factory with the girl?....uhm, yeah she wasn't the real singer. It was a 'healthy' girl so to say.
It is honestly not about sex, or looks, because to me madonna is not that attractive and she uhm, has lip synced ALOT of her concerts....BUT guys do it all the time too. Now to play the race card, that's just wrong IMHO, but what do I know?

An important fact...

It wasn't Milli Vanilli's voice/voices on the record which won a Grammy.

It seems at least Ashlee gets credit for having her own (enhanced) voice on her record.

Yes, the 1960's was perhaps the last time ugly people could get record deals as long as they had talent (read: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jefferson Airplane, The Door, Sly and The Family Stones, Janis Joplin, etc.).

And of course, the early 1970's (read: David Bowie, KISS, etc.).

First of all you homo, how the hell are we suppose to know if Ashlee acually did sing on her own album at all if she can't sing most of them "live" like she should have?

I know you can foolish a lot of people with too much reverb but this is profound sad!!

Ashlee simpson caught lip synching on SNL
