I have been banned from HPC for years because I pointed out that a moderator’s post was unrelated to its topic.
Go figure.

One time he started a stupid HPC topic (which is perfectly acceptable) and then said anyone who pointed out its stupidity would be banned.

Entrapment!!

Thus, one is likely to be disappointed if they expect a rational explanation for being banned.

Seems a tad harsh on you!


TBH, I don't miss HPC.
(I was prone to misbehaviour there).

Hmmm, banned in December 2023? Then the mod was not Hink. He left a year before that. He's even scrapped from the moderators list (which still has Meffy listed) and the current mods list is quite short.

I've said it before: it is not helpful to ban users without telling them (and us) why. Often the offending posts are removed. I'd rather have a "[mod edit: no!]" replacement in the offending post, like some mods used to do. Then it is somewhat clear what line got crossed.

The UA guy is getting that way too. I think it is what you become if you are a marketeer and interact with the audio community online. You end up having to try to argue a positive PoV even if it the claims, from corporate, you are tasked with making aren't seen as realistic or reasonable to the individual.

TBF, you're right EnCiphered - my humour has been a bit off recently, sorry.
(There was a death in my family last week and I'm now trying to help sort out some estate issues etc which I won't bore you with.
Happily, today was a better day: for my job, I'm a teacher at a school for teenagers with Autism, Down's and other sensory needs and we had a great time doing some Forest School for the first time this term).

Anyway, I shall take your advice on board - and, tbh, it's probably best if I just try to avoid 'humour' at the moment.

(There was a death in my family last week and I'm now trying to help sort out some estate issues etc which I won't bore you with.
Happily, today was a better day: for my job, I'm a teacher at a school for teenagers with Autism, Down's and other sensory needs and we had a great time doing some Forest School for the first time this term).
