This way, we could use drum library plugins like Atlas or XO, unlocking a world of custom Snapbacks with the fastest possible workflow.
You can import full folders of samples, maybe this helps. See the "Show User Sound Folder" option in the Main Menu.
Yes, I saw that in the video, but that just unnecessarily clutters the user’s hard drive. People don’t work that way. We already have our tools and custom libraries with tens of thousands of samples. We just want the ability to instantly browse and use them, without extra steps or duplications.
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop talking about "We"... it´s your opinion, you don´t know what others want or do...
Why is it any clutter if you put some sym links into the right directory?? No need to duplicate anything...

Ah, thank you for that valuable insight into everyone else’s preferences. Oh wait, weren’t you just saying I shouldn’t speak for others? The irony... Also, not everyone wants to jump through hoops with symbolic links just to achieve basic functionality and fast workflow. But if you enjoy overcomplicating things, more power to you.

This is a painful level of stupidity/irony

Resorting to insults. Classic move when you’ve got nothing intelligent to add. But don’t worry, I’ll keep the conversation going while you figure out how to contribute something useful. Take your time.

It's not an insult, it's an observation.

Warning for users with offline DAWs:
Internet connection required for downloading Snapback's samples.

Yay, more encrypted samples from Cableguys! I'll pass.

Anyone know if there is any need for this if one has Devious Machines Texture?

I think those are different offerings. Texture is a bit more like the noise layer in shaperbox. This is focused on the transient and (pre transient) part of the sound only.
I make electronic music - DAW of choice : Live 12

Ah yes  Thanks for your help.

Wait, so this puts reverse transients on every single hit that is put through the trigger? Why would anybody want that? Reverse hits are mostly just used to accent or flourish a single hit or sound you want to stand out in a sequence. Sticking one on every single hit in the sequence reduces its impact considerably. Its akin to having a riser fx every 4 bars...

There's some pretty obvious phase issues in that product demo as well when they add in the transient sample layers with the kick. Having to change the tonality of the sound with transposition to force the cycles to line up(wouldn't mean that the correlation is improved either)isn't the most elegant of solutions and it doesn't always work in practice. A phase envelope would work better and you wouldn't have to compromise on the sound of the actual layer you picked, but it seems it's not all that common a solution despite being pretty easy to implement, especially when your doing things that aren't realtime already like the triggering and such in the case of Snapback. What's a few more ms of latency...

What does this mean? You don't download the samples for Snapback and store them on your drive? Or the same sample, whenever you use it, has to be downloaded each time?
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

How does it ad a short sound before a drum hit when it uses audio detection to know when to add it? Does it use quite a lookahead, tehrefor adding a lot of latency?

Post

@ Dirtgrain ... I presumed you would need to download the samples one time only when first launching the plugin, and they will then be stored on your computer. Would be weird to expect license owners to download them every time they load up the vst.
