M4L is even much more capable... but in terms of ease of use, not so much. When I still used Live, I tried to make stuff a few times in M4L and gave up. It was too much of a learning curve for me. I still prefer the way they are implemented in Bitwig, but I wouldn't call it a "win" when M4L can do so much more than Note Grid.
Bitwig's Grid on the other hand, I successfully made something within a few minutes the first time I tried it and I've been making stuff in it ever since. Note Grid is easy to do simple, use specific patches in a fast fluid way.
