CrystalWizard wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 7:35 pm Unfortunately much of what i use is old and that includes Hour Glass, Absynth, Alchemy, Audition (i would avoid Adobe, mine is the old Audition 3 which i got as a Cool Edit user), Omnishpere, assorted Glitchmachines, Kontakt, and more obscure or inappropriate softwares.
I'm still trying to remove remnants of Adobe installs from the 90s. LOL. Adobe is like a parasite. Yet, I wouldn't mind having a new copy of Audition if it wasn't subscription and a ripoff. The real question is . . . which company is worse, Adobe or Avid?

Adobe imo. There exists "search and destroy" softwares that seek out Adobe files hidden in the crack of a machine.
That ancient Adobe 3 was the last before the CC sub bs. On some machines i am using the Cool Edit Pro that was installed in 2001. (windoze 7) it still works. i guess i'll start a separate thread on wave editors.

i forgot the best audio mangler i have: the mighty Reaktor. There are so many ens to transform samplers.

If non-real time processing isn’t a must, there’s Composers desktop project, Fscape, Cecilia and Notam Mammut as well.

I have a 2022 Mac mini, but those darn Adobe hidden files migrated through the air.

Like running field recording through UA Silo or Arturia Fragments, then into Specops or Infiltrator and into a convolution reverb using the same field recording as the "impulse". Can turn into mush quickly but also pretty great for the whole mud pie thing.

Naww... Best is HourGlass, does a ton by itself well thought out... But not only that you can automate VST params over the playing sample...

Last version 1.4.5 available on Softpedia

For beats there hasn't been anything that can touch this-

When they made Guru/Geist for FXpansion they weren't even close to what this could do...

HourGlass! But where can I find a recent download for Mac?

Anemond Factoid & Sloom are good for this.

Isn't Ocenaudio an audio editor?

These look amazing. I am investigating now.

Dawesome MYTH is looking and sounding sweet! They also make Zyklop, "MYTH’s fun, free-spirited little sister."

There are some groovy options out there. I'm actually surprised.
