@Cableguys:
The current work around in Logic is deterrent.
Please reinvent it as MidiFX.
We'll find out how much work it is, and how many users request it.

Ableton has imo a big success in adding the far reaching Midi FX with their last version.
Mario Nieto has a big hit with his Harmony Bloom and following stuff.
StepFX Arp is as well a burner.
Therefore I think, that Midi manipulation has a market. More and more...

I would buy it if it had it! :)

Well, I'm not a plugin developer but I believe the first step would be to change the plugin 'type' to AUMI. That should make it appear to Logic as a MIDI FX plugin.

I have been using MidiShaper since version 1.3.2, because, along with Curve, VolumeShaper, and FilterShaper, these plugins allowed me to automate the spline breakpoints.

For example, I could create 30 breakpoints, and automate each of their x/y values independently, allowing for morphing envelopes, and manipulations I've been unable to achieve with other plugins. This is ideal when using software that can interpolate between the breakpoint values / envelope shapes.

As well, I often wrap MidiShaper in a Bidule Group, that will allow me to create, and switch between, presets on-the-fly, immediately saving, and recalling the breakpoints in the process. This functionality has been the basis for many of my music projects, but with the latest version of MidiShaper it is now gone.

Currently, the older MidiShaper 1.5.1 seems to work fine in Bidule running on Mac OS Sequoia 15.1.1, which I'm thankful about. However, it is disappointing that the functionality I originally purchased MidiShaper for is no longer part of the plugin, and MidiShaper is now another plugin I am anticipating will require me to run an older Mac OS in order to use, in the manner I purchased it for.

This issue is the main reason I did not buy ShaperBox. I'm now assuming Curve's days are numbered in this regard as well.

I would appreciate, and be interested in an explanation for the change in functionality. I realize I'm possibly alone here, but I thought I'd offer my 2 cents, for what it's worth. Automatable breakpoints was my primary interest in CableGuys' products.

that is a brilliant way to use modulation - thanks for sharing. I use gatekeeper instead and it does not allow for breakpoint modulation but it does allow time and other modulation for which your method has given me some very handy ideas
thanks again

Nice! Tho TBH, I cant say I ever figured out how to use the old version overly well...

Thank you for the compliment. I’m glad what I wrote gave you some ideas!

I think MIDI shaper would also go well with CableGuys Snapback, because it is too static....

I may buy ShaperBox 3 today. I also use Logic Pro and it would be great to have it as a MIDI FX.

But being relatively new to Logic Pro, I wonder, is it a significant concern of not having ShaperBox as a MIDI FX?

Be aware that MIDI Shaper is not part of ShaperBox, just sayin'.... :hihi:

Yes, I am aware, but sorry, I guess I mixed it up with ShaperBox in the above conversation (because I read some comments about it here). :ud:

Is MIDI FX relevant to ShaperBox 3? Probably not I guess, in which case my question above would be invalid and I'm outta here. :)

You can use ShaperBox as a MIDI controlled effect in Logic, which means it's loaded into an instrument slot and receives audio through the sidechain input. You can then use MIDI notes on that track to load wave shapes or trigger the LFO.

Thanks for the tip. :tu:

Bummer there's no AAX version since Pro Tools is the platform that could most use something like this.
