The thing about Unfiltered's G8 is that it can output the rejected audio to another channel, AFAIK it's the only one that can do that...

G8 is gr8. Was using Gatey Watey, but G8 is more flexible and has some unique features for more creative uses like output reject, midi in/out, delay, and other weird sound-designish stuff if you want to go there. I also vastly prefer the vector style GUI versus a faux hardware emulation aesthetic

Good to know! Someone else seemed to suggest there are other Unfiltered products can do everything G8 does.pekbro wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 9:54 pm The thing about Unfiltered's G8 is that it can output the rejected audio to another channel, AFAIK it's the only one that can do that...

Easy. Auburn sounds Renegate. The absolute smoothest gate I’ve ever used. I used the free version for years. My recommendation is to check that one before paying for a gate.

To be honest my favorite gate for years is the one in Voxengo Voxformer. I have plenty of others that are very good, configurable, plenty to tweak etc. But VoxFormer excels at finding the perfect sweet spot IMO.

That was me who said that, but I'd suggest looking into it yourself as it's likely there are things I missed, as I was looking for something to do everything I wanted and saw that Triad had all of the main features as G8 and sounded the same when compared. But for example, someone said you can output the rejected audio to another channel with G8, but with Triad I think you can only choose to output one or the other, not both to separate channels.electro wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:17 pmGood to know! So I should clarify that my post was meant more to say that someone with Triad might already have all they need since they're getting nearly all of the features there. Otherwise I think it's worth it to look into both and seeing what works for you.

they thought traid and byome did but byome definitely does not have the scope of g8electro wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:17 pmGood to know! and whatnot. The RE doesn't count imo as they require Reason, besides it's not really a gate...

Kilohearts gate works great. I use that most of the time. If I want to shape the release I’ll use Cableguys VolumeShaper.
