Goooooold member. Austin Powers.

The membership levels give you different benefits including discounts on certain products on esoundz but the ones that are excempt from any discounts are items on sale and products like this that are special limited time offers.

ePointz, however, are applied to your total purchase whatever it is. One way to get ePointz is to get someone to mention your name as a referal when they buy on the site. You can also get $5 off your next purchase by mentioning even my name or anyone you see who asks to name them as a referal (both the refererereer and the refereeee get $5 in ePointz on a single purchase referal).

Yes, not only this but also hybrid wind instruments made out of duduk or other wind elements such as tubular noise formants and various reed tones- they can all be put together as a composite wind sound that is a bit like the physical modeling winds you find in VL1 (in fact there are even sampled physical modeling wind elements there too to mix and play with). But, you can get incredible realism because you can modulate the breath part separate of the reed tone. So, you get his real human sounding tremolo on the breath with a subtle vibrato on the reed tone and you get more mathematical possibilities of expression that way (like one would on a read ethnic wind instrument like that).

Sonik Synth 2 is like a combined synthetic and natural element reanimated synthesizer. That's one of the things I love about it. You can do LA type synthesis with a tone of ACOUSTIC elements and create funky instuments that never existed but still sound REAL! It's not just for nutty synthy sounds and pads.

Can you import your own samples in SS2 (as Sampletank 2 do) ?

Is it the exactly same engine with another GUI ?

Where can we find the detailed specifications ?

thank you, PQ

Post

Yes as pquenin said.

I finally bought Sampletank 2 just to get the "engine" but i must admit that these sounds are really good. Now i wouldn´t be without

But i think Sampletank2 has some limitations when using the drumsets.
You can´t route a single drum to it´s own output!

And there´s no fx send funktion either.

What i think IK should do is the make a master section in Sampletank with the same 5 slot fx as on the patch channels, BUT these effects should be send fx.
That way you can have five different send effects so you could maybe route your drums to a compressor and have ONE global reverb for all the sounds to save cpu.
So the 16 channels should have each own send level routing to one or more of the five global fx. And the drumsets should have a fx routing for every drum.

By the way, i have send these ideas to IK mutimedia a week ago so maybe you could push a little to them SQUIDS...

No. Sonik Synth 2 can only play the instruments that come with it. It can't play other SamplTank instruments, and it can't import external sounds.

pquenin wrote:Is it the exactly same engine with another GUI ?
It's based on the same engine. There might be some modifications, but they're confidential.

Detailed specs aren't available yet. www.esoundz.com

thank you for the precisions !
I have also downloaded the SS2 freeto hear how it sounds, but there is no sound in it, where are they ?????

Post

2 seperate files. One says something like SS2Free and the other is SS2Sounds? I think. Both .exe files but first doesn't do much good without the second. Seriously trying NOT to sound like a smartass! I didn't understand it either at first! Good luck, you'll love it! I just ordered the real thing today and can't hardly wait!

Post

Yes, the sounds are a separate download from the app. The sounds need to be in your SS2Instruments folder of Sonik Synth 2 FREE (after it is installed).

Some more new free sounds will be available for that version soon.

Then there's this full version... sound list coming this week! A list over 5,000 patches. Maybe I'll post them here! :D

Can I ask a really stupid question?

What is LA synthesis and would I recognise it if I saw it down the street?

Caleb
Happiness is the hidden behind the obvious.

LA synthesis is the kind of synthesis you do under a palm tree and when coconut falls on your head that is where you get a percussive effect added to it.

Great - so it's a ripoff of Newton synthesis then.
How Hollywood!

Fig Newton synthesis is much better.

LA synthesis is linear arithmetic synthesis where you essentially make a composite sound by layering elements such as separate attacks and sustain tones.
