Isn't the PG8X thread flooded with complaints that PG8X hasn't been updated for Apple silicon and seems abandoned? Seems like that alone would be a good reason for TAL to do it.

Knowing TAL he probably will add a bi timbral mode ;)

Since a JX-10 is essentially two JX-8Ps, he would need to do this either way. My guess is that the JX-10 will come quite quickly after the JX-8P emulation, since most of the work will already be done. 🙂
I don't see a point in having a separate plugin for JX-10. Patrick will just allow for higher polyphony in JX-8P and that's that.
There is a slight difference in filters, and that the JX10 has innate A+B layering with chase play.
In case not too late and Patrick reads this: I would definitely consider the layers of JX10, instead of a simple polyphony increase. It gives room for more interesting presets and splits. The chase play was also fun to use.

That's just extra options to add. Entirely doable and still no need for a separate plugin.

Patrick can call it the JX-8P10 :)

I'm not saying he won't get the chorus right, but I hope he gets the chorus right: https://www.florian-anwander.de/roland_string_choruses/

"The LFO speed setting is similar to the Juno-106, but not the same. Interesting aspect: there is a very simple limiter circuit in the audio-in of the chorus. Appearently the roland engineers found that the JX-3P can overdrive its chorus; assumingly they wanted to avoid that without making the sound/noise ratio worse. This limiter is not(!) in the signal path of the dry signal, so it might be that percussive sounds are more "incisive" at the JX-8P than on the 3P."

They delayed it to as early as the end of the year, but they told me they are working on a new dynamic EQ plugin.

So end of year at the earliest? I'm wondering if he's combining the 8P and the 3P. Super excited to see what he does. Curious about the EQ as well.

"TAL-EQ" was released on September 4th, so he's surely working tirelessly on the JX-8P now, right? :)

In all likelihood, we'll see it next year, hopefully. Still excited for it. :hyper:

He has already finished JX-7P and is working on 8P.
