As always, the devil's in the details. AI is not the root of all evil; the overuse and blind acceptance of it by the mindless masses is. It can be a useful and not at all evil tool, such as with "smart" EQ and various mixing/mastering things. The problem lies in lazy/talentless hacks using it to "compose" (i.e. AI composes and they sign their name to it) or "play" (AI plays and they sign their name to it).

The scariest part of all to me is how few care, esp among the younger generations. But I'll pass on spitting into the wind. I'm just in a way glad I'm as old as I am and not just coming of age now.

I've recently gotten into Suno as a creative vocal production solution. I produce the instrumental, write the lyrics, and upload both to Suno. It'll come up with phrasings and vocal melodies I would have never thought of. Which I'll mix with the ones I wrote. Or at times, it can be a great break-out-of-the-loop tool. Just upload your four bars, tell it which direction you want to take it musically, and at times you'll get some pretty insane results.

It'll never be a replacement for the joy of producing music, but using AI tools this way can be very helpful.
