Are there reasons (other than GAS) for getting Infiltrator or ShaperBox if you already have Arturia's Motions? Not for mixing and utility stuff, but only for movement and sound design related tasks?

My 2 cents:
Infiltrator has 1500 high quality presets of which a lot of them are on the freaky side. On the very freaky side. Quite a few of them make something new out of your audio input.
It just sounds great.
The interface concept of Infiltrator seems to be very different than the Arturia one. That could be complementary. Both sound really good. And yes, different.
What sold me on Infiltrator is the reverb and delay stuff in there. It can sound very lush, which I loathe. And then the glitchy distorty freak stuff. Just awesome.
I sold Shaperbox. It has (had?) not so many presets and they were not of a high quality to me. I was rather unimpressed. I bought it because I wanted several frequency bands. I still think that it is rediculous that it has (had?) no master volume.
ABX is enemy to GAS

No experience with Motions, but at a glance, it strikes me as a less advanced version of Shaperbox. IMO these are great at ducking, auto panning, time-sync'd pumping effects, etc.

Infiltrator can do all that as well, but IMO it's strengths are in using the massive number of presets to do audio mangling.

If you have Cubase, you also have FX Modulator. It's not as complex or as deep as ShaperBox or Infiltrator, but it does quite a bit of what people are using those plugins for.

Never used it myself but it keeps popping up (and I think it's on sale at the moment).
I've never owned any of their plugins, but that looks pretty great for the sale price. I was also just looking at their RAMSES plugin, which seems to be even more like Infiltrator (although still quite different)?

Listening to the demos now and may need to pick it up while it's so cheap.

UVI Shade is very capable too in my opinion😉

Wasn't as interested in these boxes prior to picking up EFX Motions for cheap when I was current with Arturia. I used it all the time in FL because modulation at the DAW level was such a pain in the ass. Now that I'm experimenting with Bitwig I actually find myself coming back to it more and more as a creative effect. Coldfire too - its just so nice to have complex and interactive modulation lanes next to all of these parameters. Its made me more curious about these types of devices too. If you like how the arturia stock fx sound, you get most of them in MOTIONS and the best repeat section is super easy.

I use UVI shade all the time and it sounds seriously great. With the included limiter you can push some really extreme comb / phaser settings and just keep things moving. When I bought shade I was looking for something that could move and scream kind of like the Sherman filter bank - its not quite that but it's doing the job. I use Shade on every track and once again the modulation is king. Oh and the filters sound better and are more interesting than Arturia's since it is basically the filter section from Falcon. You can get rhythmical in it too depending on your modulation selections.

Unfiltered Audio Triad is insanely powerful but I often don't reach for it because I'm still not in the habit of wanting to process bands separately like. That, probably should try it more. The preset "random bands" is a super useful tool though

Have Molekular and have never used it in a track. I. Should change that

Of all listed in this thread, Infiltrator, Synestia and maybe Filterverse seem most desirable

Old thread, but I'll add Beatsurfing Cheat Code to the list. It's more of a quirky, experimental, niche MultiFX, but it's a lot of fun.

HY MBM FX3 is fantastic. 42 effects and really deep modulation.

It even has shaperbox/infiltrator style modulation with the shaper modulator.

Also Oxywave is great. A bit more limited in actual effects but it's probably my favourite in terms of designing the actual modulation shapes.

Serum 2 FX is also really powerful.
