I do think the sound changed a bit, but for me it was in a good way.
I remember when I first tried Liquid Sonics Cinematic Room, I compared it to my weapons of choice, Nimbus and R4 and was surprised that I liked CR Pro more.. soundwise.... for 95% of what I do.
when I compare Equinox with CR Pro and HD cart, this holds up much better and will get more use again.

Yes, those presets do sound different. Curiously, the gate is ON for both on Equinox, when it wasn't on Symphony. Even after turning it off, the decay on Symphony is still longer and smoother. Definitely some changes were made, but I noticed the same thing when going from R4 to Symphony. It might be a change in scaling the RT60 or size params.Iva wrote: Tue Apr 29, 2025 5:45 pm They sound close, but not the same. Compare Plate 81 preset from Symphony with Plate 81 (Legacy presets) section from Equinox, especially with longer tails (7-8 sec) and chorus around 72% depth.
Looks like, iZotope changed the sound of the Exponential Audio reverbs, and in a bad way.
It could be that they take the opportunity to correct a bug here and there since it's a new product and it's not a big deal if the sound changes a little. At least we can keep Symphony and Stratus around for old projects.

Hopefully they're working on performance optimization as well. When I tried it, it had a noticeably laggy GUI and quite high latency (much higher than Stratus and Symphony).
I liked the idea of combining the two into one plugin, but I wasn't happy with the execution.

Same! Also the round of updates happening at PA is great as well.

I think they got close. It's just that they should have spent a bit more time refining a few things.concealed identity wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 12:42 am Hopefully they're working on performance optimization as well.
