I got hold of a Messenger, but returned it due to issues with usb midi. I found the keybed and build quality better than expected (plastic base aside), and the tone was the Moog sound was I looking for along with some good design choices for variation.

Did you contact them about it? They seem pretty responsive.db3 wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:29 am I got hold of a Messenger, but returned it due to issues with usb midi. They've already got an OS update for it, and it was just released.
If other people run into that problem and report it, it'll most likey get fixed in the future.

I was running latest 1.0.7 firmware and it was unusable for me. Given the reported issues with Muse I wasn't prepared to be a beta tester when I can still get a full refund from the retailer.felis wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 7:09 pmDid you contact them about it? I had similar issues with the MIDI, or at least sending to the Messenger which caused random CC, patch and bank changes. I've since found a work around which is to simply just change the instrument's MIDI channel number (I set it to 16).db3 wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:29 am I got hold of a Messenger, but returned it due to issues with usb midi. I played a Messenger Saturday. It sounds nothing like other Moogs because they've done so much to 'dirty' up the filter. Really, it can do some cool sounds- but not for someone who already has euro rack. A good present for a son/daughter who doesn't have a synthesizer yet.

Great to see an official editor, with VST version confirmed — other manufacturers take note.
Also now duophonic.

The editor/librarian is fantastic and was badly needed.
I had to keep the manual handy before, because there were so many hidden functions.
But they're all right in front of you now. So much nicer.

my Messenger arrived yesterday, sounds great but anyone got any tips on how to make it work properly when hooked up to Ableton Live? I have all sorts of latency/clock issues. the filter works like an on/off switch with no change in sound when turning the knob, it will jump to the new value when I stop turning it. the latest firmware is installed. I've tried connecting it in various different ways including USB-USB & DIN to DIN but it's just a mess.
I have a few other synths connected such as a 30 year old Waldorf Pulse, JP-8000 & ASM hydrasynth. All work flawlessly.
very close to sending it back
