The irony is not lost on me that PyInstaller - a legitimate, widely-used Python packaging tool with 12.5k+ GitHub stars - gets the same treatment as projects using it. This highlights just how widespread these heuristic false positives have become in the Python ecosystem.

I feel your pain - this sort of thing is hard to proactively resolve pre-release. Still I'm glad you found the issue (and it wasnt yours). As I've said: Good luck with the product.

Thanks for the support! Just a quick update - managed to solve the PyInstaller issue by compiling with gcc instead. VirusTotal is now completely clean, and I've submitted my GitHub repo to Malwarebytes - they'll fix it in their next update.
