So the website for SM player has not been updated with information for SM3 player but the download gets you SM3 Player. That is going to cause some confusion.

Yes, working now.kv331 wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 1:57 pmAfter you paste the serial please hit the enter/return key to make sure the value is entered. Let me look into this and fix it.onerob wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 1:54 pm I'm not able to finish the registration process. I paste in the serial number that has been emailed, but when I click the Register button it just re-sends the number instead of registering the plugin.
Running MacOS 10.15.7. Logic Pro 10.6.3.
EDIT: I fixed the issue (so that user doesn't have to press return/enter key), will be in the next build tomorrow. Thanks for the bug report.

If I have both SynthMaster 3 and SynthMaster 3 Player and I use the Player version to install a new V3 preset expansion, should I expect the same expansion presets to also be available in the non-Player version? I do I need to purchase the expansion twice?
Surely there must be consensus by now...

NO of course, and you do NOT have to install them (expansions) twice (once for SM3 Player and once for SM3)
SynthMaster 3 and SynthMaster 3 Player share the following folders so that when you upgrade from SM3 Player to SM3 all presets carry over:
My Documents Folder
Public Documents Folder

That's what I thought, so I was surprised when a new expansion that installed through SynthMaster 3 Player didn't show up in SynthMaster 3. I have already owned SynthMaster 3 for a while. I eventually found that clicking the preset name in the top area gives the option to "Download my preset banks." That did load in the new expansion but it mysteriously removed (from the plugin interface, not the file system) some of the old ones. Refreshing the plugin resulted in all of the expansions showing up.kv331 wrote: Wed Sep 17, 2025 4:44 am SynthMaster 3 and SynthMaster 3 Player share the following folders so that when you upgrade from SM3 Player to SM3 all presets carry over:
It would feel more intuitive to me for the expansion addition process to be somewhere in the browser - where the expansions show up - and that presets installed in one synth show up in the other automatically. Maybe you're not expecting owners of SynthMaster 3 to also purchase SynthMaster 3 Player. But as long as it all works eventually, I'm happy.
Speaking of which, I think your products are excellent. I would recommend them to anyone.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

That is the expected behaviour. That's why they share folders. I will test this scenario againpough wrote: Wed Sep 17, 2025 5:34 pm and that presets installed in one synth show up in the other automatically. I just updated to 3.4.4 and SM3 caused FL Studio to stop responding in under ten seconds by simply changing presets. I do have Fixed Size Buffers enabled. Windows 11.
SM3 is a fantastic synth but sadly it's too unstable here to trust for use in projects.
EDIT: And it just happened twice more. I can reproduce the issue 100%.
Select preset #1 "BT 1983", play a few notes on your keyboard and while those notes are still ringing switch to preset #2 "79 All the Time BT".
FL Studio immediately stops responding and has to be manually shut down.

Sorry but can NOT reproduce this issue, just tested with FL Studio on Windows. Switching presets work without any issues.Teksonik wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 5:16 pm I just updated to 3.4.4 and SM3 caused FL Studio to stop responding in under ten seconds by simply changing presets. What is your ASIO device? and its hw buffer size?
What other "unstable" issues did you observe? Did you report them to us?

Sadly, Synthmaster has always had issues with FL Studio here going back to at least version 2 and perhaps before and yes I have reported them over the years.
My systems specs are irrelevant since the dozens of other synths I own do not have the same issues with stability in FL Studio.
I will run the test again later today but like I said I was able to reproduce 100% of the time yesterday. Of note this issue occurred right after loading SM3 for the first time after updating to 3.4.4 and after a fresh boot up. It's quite possible it has to do with FL's Fixed Size Buffer settings as there are glitches and audio artefacts when switching from some patches to others (which does not occur in the other synths I use).

Your system specs are indeed very important in identifying the root cause of this issue you are having. As I said, I can NOT reproduce such an issue so I need to know exactly what your system setttings are to match your system and reproduce the issue.Teksonik wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 12:23 pm My systems specs are irrelevant since the dozens of other synths I own do not have the same issues with stability in FL Studio.
I am using Komplete Kontrol ASIO Driver with 128 samples HW buffer size, and here's what I am observing when switching presets:

and this is the test project I am using in FL Studio:
