My nephew brought me one after it took a tumble to see if I could make it work. It had a key bent upwards and a broken USB input. Fixing the key only took a gentle heat and bend to it's original position. However, after checking the inside USB board I found it needed to be replaced. Finding the part online, it cost more than the whole keyboard.
Sorry to hear. I guess there will always be defective products. But overall it seems well received?

Novation Launchkey Mini MK4 37 is on sale at Andertons (where I bought my bass guitar pre covid and got it delivered the next day so they rate highly with me). It comes with a free copy of the Basstation VST.

Ah, got it. It's funny, I see the 25-key versions pop up for sale locally for dirt cheap ($40-70) on a somewhat regular basis, but I can't recall the last time I saw the 49 or 61 key versions. They also made the ReMote Zero, which was the same thing without a keyboard and, surprisingly, those are usually priced considerably higher than the 25 - maybe higher demand for the smaller footprint?

It wasn't defective, it was damaged. And it still worked as far as MIDI. But most buy these to control via USB to the computer, and needing to replace parts when necessary should be taken into account. And individual parts should never cost more than buying a whole new unit.
