Easiest VST To Create Custom Wavetables?

Okay, here's what I've done as far as the multi samples.

I've loaded them into Kontakt and zoned then all out. But the only option I see for export is as an nki file. Is there any way to export as a wav file? If not, how can I convert the nki file into a wav file?

Icarus. It has excellent resynthesis capabilities! And it has so many wavetable transformations!!

Agreed. I’ve tried them all and none are as easy and effective as Icarus. Great synth too.

Again though, why would you want to save a multisampled instrument as one wav file? Surely that defeats the object of sampling at different pitches, velocities, etc. If it's adding layers, surely it makes more sense to create a wavetable for each oscillator from each file. Not sure of the specifics of this machine so may be some issue I'm missing

I've downloaded the first set of files, I'll try and load them into Icarus and see if that gets close and if so, I'll post the results here.

Okay, here's my question. Kontakt is very easy to muli sample with. Is there something that works just like Kontakt but saves as a multi sample that I can use in Serum? See, I can't use nki files in Serum. That's the problem.

Ok, so you want to use multiple sample layers to record one wav. file which you'll then use as a wavetable?

I understand multi-sampling and creating wavetables, it's just that creating useful wavetables from wavs sort of does away with the point of multi-sampling - i.e. getting rid of the sampling artifacts from pitching up or down. I've tried the TG33 wavs in Icarus and they're not too shabby with a bit of a clean-up but they won't sound good too far from the original pitch (less noticeable when using initial samples lower in pitch but very obvious when attempting to use higher samples). Certainly less "Mickey Mouse" but not great.

It's possible that you could get useable wavetables from the samples after processing them in Icarus which you could then potentially make into a multiple key-zone wavetable monster in Falcon (i.e. create a wavetable for each instrument you want for each register you require). Sure there's probably some means to knock up a modulation to crossfade between them too but that's a bit above my knowledge level.

OMG, is what I'm trying to do just not possible?

I have TAL Sampler. I loaded a few samples and went to save. It only allows me to save in Tal Instrument format. Then trying to use Convert With Moss to a wav file and designating the source directory, the message I get is no file exists.

What in God's name do I have to do to create a multi sample file that I can import into Serum 2? Why is this so hard?

Just forget about about SFZ, multisamples and for gods sake close Kontakt immediately, you don't need it.

For longer samples like the AWM you can just load them into Serum and convert to wavetable.

Now if you want a more traditional wavetable you need to cut out single cycles (important that they're all exactly the same length) and merge them into a single continous wav file. This can be done with any audio editor. Otherwise i found this nifty tool that does the merging for you once you have the cycles.

Okay, now that I know I can load the AWM files, that are apparently wavetable files according to Serum 2, into Serum 2, I still would like to create custom wavetables from the raw wav files including in the sample pack.

So say I want to take a guitar wav and combine it with a synth wav and make those 2 wavs into a wavetable. How do I do it? Serum 2 will only allow me to load one file into each osc. So I have to somehow combine those 2 files to make them into one file before I load that file into Serum 2.

What is the easiest way to do that?

Okay, let me be real specific about what I want to do.

Serum 2 only allows you to load one file into each oscillator slot. What I want to do, if possible, is take say a TG 33 guitar wav at C2 and a TG 33 33 synth wav also at C2 so they are the same pitch, combine them into one file so that the one wav crossfades into the other and load that file into Serum 2.

What's the easiest way to do that?
