I don't think I'll have time this month, sadly.
Too much 'stuff' going on here.
Apart from that I think I'm a bit daunted by FFA just now.
Normally it is my thing but the way the creative juices have dried up of late I'm feeling happier (?) when given some direction.
We'll see how the month progresses.

I have something that I'm very pleased with, just needs a few minor tweaks, but the problem is that from the start to the tail of the last note is 3:07. If I do a fast fade of the last note I could get it down to exactly 3:00, but it just wouldn't sound right.

Would it be acceptable without that hack?

Here's some commentary on this month's entries (in the order they were submitted), because I wanted to share what I appreciated in each one.

Konfusius, Cruel Queen, - I liked the vocal - it had a wistful quality that appealed to me. I couldn't understand some of the words though.

harvon, Predictions - I kept coming back to this one. Loved the stark simplicity. The vocal did remind me of Leonard Cohen and I loved the guitar part. There was an unusual variability in the reverb/delay/doubling effect on the vocal. Was that the AI producing artifacts? It seemed most noticable at the loudest parts. Loved it anyway, ...I hope the predictions don't come true though!

Shrikant, Chupa Chupi - Very good drums. Also liked the orchestral stabs near the end.

folderol, Aftermath - Welcome back!!! Had that inimitable folderol style! Looks like Yoshimi grabbed first and last this month.

offthewall, The Irish Prayer - What a great song! Also liked the whistle and the bouzouki.

Patrick9, Freeform - Sounds like you had a lot of fun making that. Liked the groove, the chord progression and the overall musicianship

Laguna, Mountain Fortress - Nice rockin' arrangement.

beanpole, Talk To Me - Solid musicianship.

Hellfog, World Of Domination - My favorite thing was the ominous synth sound that came in at about 1:45.

As always for me, it was very hard to judge, especially with the theme being so open.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on what I could have done to make my track better. I know there were some things at the end where the timing got a bit chaotic, but it seemed appropriate to me so I left it alone. I really don't know where that track came from. It just developed that way and I found it becoming a way to try to mourn the loss of innocent lives.

Must be AI artifacts because I didn't use any reverb/delay/doubling or other effects on the vocal.

In general, I can separate the stems of non-AI songs and use them. I can separate the stems of AI songs too, but they sound often bad and can't be used.

How did you do the ai vocal? Did you sing it yourself and have the ai replace your voice, or do you type the lyrics and give it a midi melody, or some other way? This is not the first time you've had a really good result with the ai vocal.

Some of the ways and tools I have used are no longer available. The sites and developers of online AI music generators have responded to a flood of complaints from artists and the music industry and removed some tools.

At the moment I don't know how to do the vocals of my next song.

And I don't know yet what to do when the whole AI song is bad, sound quality wise...
