Alright, looking forward to it. Really liking the sound quality of this one.

It’s very nice, no effects at all to achieve that either. If you have anything you’d like to see plz list it here.scott_free wrote: Fri May 22, 2026 12:54 am Alright, looking forward to it. Really liking the sound quality of this one.
He is a one man operation tho, keep that in mind. Of course, his knowledge and skill are
uncommon.

Would you elaborate on this statement a bit, please. I don't have Morphagene, but do have 2 MN Phonogenes.
Just picked this up, because I'm a total sucker for almost* anything granular.

Purchased. Love it. Already found a use for it in the track I'm working on now.

What kind of copy protection / activation does this use?

The main thing I was talking to him about was implementing some stuff from Dave Rossum’s sample based eurorack HW. Since it’s really not been done elsewhere. It remains to be seen if it can work or not.
If it can be done, he certainly can do it.

I don’t have one either, I’m pretty sure this can play through samples in a similar manner, since I’ve made some sounds with it that are reminiscent of some early stuff I heard from vurt using the morphagene. I’ve never been able to do that with SW before.Shabdahbriah wrote: Fri May 22, 2026 10:06 amWould you elaborate on this statement a bit, please. I don't have Morphagene, but do have 2 MN Phonogenes.

What does this mean exactly? Does it require reaunthorizations every so often? Or phone home system? Is my interent connection required to travel to a server on a base on the moon?

Moonbase is the name of the system, it’s 3rd party DRM and it has variable functionality, depending on the developers needs.
It phones home, it has an offline version that phones home with less frequency. There are many developers who have adopted it.
TBF: Moonbase is a full e-commerce solution for independent developers. It's not just about CP.
I don’t know what more to say, look it up if
you want to know the specifics. Or test it
yourself.

Can't say for sure that the offline machine ID version phones home or not once activated, or if he even has it enabled. IME with other devs, it is susceptible to ID mismatch errors caused by win updates or whatever. Once the ID error occurs, you must re-activate it for sure.
Same CP is used by Yum Audio, BSA Audio, Melatonin, Sixth Sample, Sync Audio, Tourage DSP and more. Personally, I don't mind it because it supports those small developers who don't have the resources for maintaining or developing their own system, or paying out to companies like iLok.

Ah.. Thanks. There is a Frippertronics-esque element to it.pekbro wrote: Fri May 22, 2026 5:52 pmI don’t have one either, I’m pretty sure this can play through samples in a similar manner, since I’ve made some sounds with it that are reminiscent of some early stuff I heard from vurt using the morphagene. Hi - Nick here from PolyFreq. Thanks for your interest in Phononnusound mind wrote: Sat May 23, 2026 8:13 amUnnecessary, I now have all the info I need. Thanks for the long version answer.pekbro wrote: Sat May 23, 2026 1:29 am

I've just updated Phonon to v1.0.4, and a couple of days ago was v1.0.3 with a bunch of small improvements. There are release notes on the download page link. I may add historical release to the website sometime too.
Anyhow - I wanted to just mention that the offline licensing does not contact a server at all.
The only server connection is when you upload the "machine" signature file to the server in exchange for a license file which you load into Phonon to activate it. You can do this via any browser on any computer, not just the computer you want to license.
Phonon is currently set to allow 2 activations, and if this doesn't meet your needs, please let me know and we can figure out what works.
I have also now added a right-click menu to the PolyFreq logo in the plugin to enable you to deactivate the online license (which does ping the server), and to get an offline license if you happen to have already activated online. I will document this on the website or in a manual soon.
Hope this helps!
Nick
