There is nothing new under the sun.

Also, wanted to update my thoughts. A synth is about ideas, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, it's about taste. A good synth has good taste of the same maths to construct an idea so the infrastructure of its is a sweet spot, but that depends on taste and knowledge of what you want. Good sound designers who have any sense of taste, good or bad, are well suited to design instruments because they have a "taste" of what is good, well pleasing. They will get what they want. Seek and you will find.

I have one unique idea I've been sitting on, but it turns out to be a bit tricky and maybe redudant with modern day wavetables, which itself is an art. Maybe I'll expound on this idea later though.

At this stage of the game I am mainly using gtp and xcode, that's it! for the last 40 passes, these two are doing the trick, juce is the framework, but the nuts of bolts are just describing exactly what i want and piece by piece building it up. Every single feature is thought out and refined. It's a fun process overall. I will have all the elements of a monster synth soon, but then i plan on sound designing and really focusing on intuitiveness and uniqueness in implementing some things. I can't wait to get into custom knobs and mseg style assigments for knobs that unify has implemented. Speaking of, going to grab this asap.

my advice is change the rotary controls to something that looks more like a virtual analog synth, rather than the ring with the dot on it which it has now. But other than that, it looks good! Also the data readout fields with numbers in them corresponding to the setting for each rotary control can probably be removed if theres too many items on the interface? But thats up to you, depends how dense you want the features to be in the GUI

Here is a unique feature, curve assignments for Macro and MW designations! Why does a MW filter assignment only need to go up and not down or up, or what if i only want to trigger in a verb or ring modulation when the MW is over 90% in position. NO ONE has this feature, besides unify

Having a blast at this, spent last full two days piecing this together, piece by piece, atleast 150 iterations, slowly it's coming togethe and just spent some time sound designing in it and it quite a fulfilling thing. This is great fun.

On a serious note, i notice how easily i take for granted what is going on here, this ai thing is piecing this thing together, is awesome scary, but to the point, i find myself being tempted to not value the skills coders have. As though I'm demanding do this or that to this ai thing, its so easy, too easy. After seeing the fullfilling nature of pieceing together the ideas, learning to code, as tedious as it might be, seems it would be worth it to learn, a worthy, useful craft. It's a worthwile labor of love in my opiion because it is fulfilling to piece together ideas like this.

There is something ineresting, creative going on. I am designingn something i can sound designn in, haha. Cool.

Hey, missed this one. Thanks. I took your advice already wiithout knowing it. The disply parameters are gone. The knobs are growing on me, but the gui design will be the last step. Judging by what is already going on with the visual elements, seems ai and juce can do pretty things, haha.

I'm really partial to the new ultra synth. That is a gorgeous synth. I'd love for the final product to be similar to that. I'm combing the features I love across many synth into this thing, from omnisphere panels and mod assignments, unify, macro curve assignment, spire snappy envelopes, vital's ott, with the literally code for that, and a couple of the morphs, spire distortion low cut/high cut set up, and just remembered I want to mimic that eq as well, and goes on an on. I am even implementing thorns harmonic oscialltor and filter to some success. Will have grains, wavetables, and a couple misc/creative types of synthesis, a knob just combines many types of synthesis via curve assignment implementations, have analog distortion from 0-25, then fm 25-50, then harmonnic 50-75, and blend of the two, interesting harmonic ideas from other people vibe coding making some gorgeous fluid instruments.
