that is so cool! His website taught me all I know. A sample set/soundfont would be amazing!sdv wrote:http://www.anti-theory.com/soundart/circuitbend/
Reed lives down the way from me and taught me the ins/outs of bending... great guy!!
I've bent all kinds of gizmos... maybe have about 20 toys here now and about 30 more to finish bending.
In the future I'll make some samples sets available for the energyXT sampler or maybe into Soundfonts.
Last week I took 6 of my toys up to GuitarCenter and hooked them up to some amps. We had the placing hopping with alien madness!!
Damn, that was cool! Amazing to think it was done with almost all piano, although I heard a bit of organ in there. I'll have to drag out the old SK-10 and mess about with it now...ugo wrote:i havent done any circuit bent effects but i did bend an old casio SK-5. it was a lot of fun to do. (though i somehow managed to light one potentiometer on fire.) one of these days i'll bend something else...perhaps something with basic midi implimentation so i can use it in sequencing.
here's an mp3 of the casio...4 minutes of circuit bent weirdness. i recorded myself tweaking the knobs for while then spliced the best sounds/loops/glitches together into this file. believe it or not, nearly everything you hear was with the SK-5 set to its built in piano sample.

sounds like a short circuitwhyterabbyt wrote: sonicalienz; I saw the link to your Speak VSTi on the Benders list and downloaded it this very afternoon. Can I ask what effect the A,B,X and Y knobs are supposed to have, and how I can trigger different samples? I can only get sounds if I switch Repeat on, cant figure out how to trigger a one-shot, or change the 'base' soundsample...
depending on the sound, its possible that actually still started as a piano. i wired up one knob that somehow kind of makes the piano sound like a basic organ. i've no idea how but it does.VoidoidSurrealist wrote:Damn, that was cool!
