the only skinny puppy album i've bought so far is mind: the perpetual intercourse. which one should i get next? (even if its not necessarily the one that has the cool drumming on it)

too dark park obviously...scariest album ever, for me. also Last Rights...but I happen to LOVE their new album, The Greater Wrong of the Right. go for them all and also for OHGRs albums.

well excuuuuuse me for budding in!
the newest album, the greater wrong of the right is excellent as well, though definitely a different sound than their previous albums.. sounds more like oghr to me.
and thanks for bringing up the downward spiral reissue.. it completely slipped my mind! :O

Future Sound of London. they're one of my favourite bands, especially their album 'ISDN'. they have a style of their own, instrumental, somewhat in between ambient, techno but with some industrial touches.
Check out if you don't know them 'The Young Gods'. NIN owe them a lot. try their 'Second Nature' album, for example. great mixture of electronics and sampled guitars with an interesting industrial-psychedelic feel.
you can listen to my music too in the soundclick page and even download my brand-new album for free of course. My project is very humble but I do it with my heart.
if you happen to like it or dislike it I'll be pleased to hear your opinions.
(now Im going to sleep) see you!

Then... is your question .. what would be fresh now?
or.. how can we be fresh now?
In terms of software...like,.. what software, if any, is doing the most (or has the potential to do the most) to give us something we haven't heard before?
or.. should we be discussing,..what concepts and/or approaches to music making would be unique?

I think a wealth of freshness could be born out of further exploration into the possibilities of live music and/or the context to which the music is being played.
I suspect the Faint, and DM knew this.
Hell, I think even the sounds of the Faint and DM, could be represented in a fresh way...
if context was kept in mind.
