I was a bit tired of software because I simply had too many stuff and too less ideas of what to do with them.soulkraka wrote:why? what gear did you buy and sell?timewastin wrote:1.) energyXT
2.) A complete hardware setup
3.) sold the complete hardware setup
4.) a laptop
I thought hardware would be more intuitive and so i got myself:
A Zoom MRS-4 Multitrack
A RedSound Darkstar xp2
An E-MU Morpheus
A Korg Electribe ES-1
A Novation K-Station (sold the Darkstar)
Sure you wouldn't consider this a "complete" hardware setup, but i thought it'd be possible to make songs with it.
And bear in mind that i'm 17 years, pupil and without an income, i couldn't afford more.
After a month or two, i noticed that it was very annoying to trim start/end points of samples without visualisation, to arrange tracks without actually seeing them, or to wait for the Multitrack to load huge audio parts.
To keep it short, i missed the joys of software.
So i sold the whole stuff (and earned about 300euro because of dumb ebayers with no clue of price estimation
I sold my old computer and got myself a laptop for 700€.
The whole story took me about two months.
(So feel free to accuse me of not being determined, it's true

Yep, I can easily see how some people make their living (or a substantial part of it) off ebay. Ive sold a few pieces of hardware and almost always came out ahead. For example, I bought a emu proteus 2000 module from a local guy for $400, used it for 6 months then turned around and sold it for $450 on Ebay. Its a wonderfull feeling to get paid for using gear!!

I haven't bought that much so far this year, but I still have time.
I bought:
Sonic Refill - and then a number of other sonic refills
Sonalksis and ANWIDA Reverbs
Minimoog V
Cameleon 5000
I think that's all.
I'm gonna buy another controller - I'm looking at the Keystation 49e. And I need to drop some coin on new studio furniture - I'm looking at Raxxess. And I need to get a couple of Computer Monitors.
But I'm most tempted by Sonic Synth 2!
