I think the most misleading album cover would have to be Meatloaf Bat out of Hell. I remember my cousin had that record and I was like "Whoa, this looks awesome, I bet it rocks!" So I put it on the player and there's this corny opera sounding garbage coming out of the speaker. I thought it was a factory defect or something.

It's too bad ugly people can't sell records anymore.

Um . . . okay, let's see who else ever heard of these.
Vangelis, The Dragon. Take a look at http://www.vangelismovements.com/thedragon.htm to see the really bad album art (especially the back cover with V looking all hairy--sorry bub, like some of your stuff but WOOH!). Bad album, by the way.
This one's my fav bad cover...
Michael Bundt, Just Landed Cosmic Kid
http://mitglied.lycos.de/pruckner/bunt.html
Yeah, now that's BAD! One and a half good songs on it the rest is REALLY bad!
Or how about...
Tim Blake, New Jerusalem

Pretentious? Moi?

As an H.P. Lovecraft fan, I always liked the front cover of The Dragon, it looks just like the great Cthulhu...
And no bad album cover thread can go without mentioning Manowar's Anthology.

You probably know this, but for everyone else's sake I'd like to point out that the reason it sucks (both the music and the cover) is because it was never meant for release. IIRC, it was basically a jam session that got put out against V's wishes, and the release wasn't really legal. It's been out of print for years for that reason.emdot_ambient wrote: Vangelis, The Dragon. Yeah, after looking at enough of these I've come to think that it's near criminal to release an album without trying to top these covers in tastlessness---rokkon wrote:wooh that's a big repository of tasty covers. Great source of inspiration for anyone who's about to release an album!
Hey, what about this:
