That's a good point. I probably will always do it this way, though, because it allows me to hear myself better when I'm singing. I suppose you could make a case for putting the compressor on the monitor track and not the input, but it's just another step I'd have to do later with my limited processor horsepower.Jeez wrote: Huh? The same goes for digital if you're compressing in the analogue domain BEFORE digital conversion. If you're using a software compressor, the signal's already been converted to digital, and you won't get any more resolution or quality by destructively compressing to disk.
