I'd like to add The Darkness. When I first heard them I genuinely thought they were taking the piss but people seem to take them as a serious Rawk Band.

80s hair metal, like bon jovi, def leppard, kiss, whitesnake, iron maiden et al.
How this was classed as being hard music for hard people I will never know
BAD 70s prog[1] - Yes, magma, ELP. I just simply find it hillarious
[1] NOT King Crimson, cause no matter how pretentious they were, they rocked like motherfuckers

re Mr Bowie....
I was watching an old clip of Bowie on TV, circa Ziggy. My friend's 3 year old daughter burst out laughing and said "Daddies can't be mummies!"

oh, and most of Led Zep's "The Song Remains The Same"
Hilarious!
apart from Bonzo's clip, his 'fantasy' consisting of bloke-drives-to-pub-has-a-pint-and-fag-and-a-game-of-pool...

I have big problems with Bowie, as although some of his songs are ok ("Heroes" is cool), I get irritated as he seems to rip off less well known people wholesale and makes his fame and fortune off their backs. Obviously this is the norm for nearly every band/singer, but to nick the riff from Sweet Jane
and then to copy disco/funk bands
: well I suppose he is a good way of getting into great music

Gymnopédies by composer Eric Satie
May I ask why is this? Too sweet? Satie is easily in my top10 favorite classical composers...

aw come on, get real will ya? when was the last time you heard serious music that wasn't laughable?
eg. for me, that would rule out anythnig that's ever been packaged, just the odd track i've heard off a mate and most of those are corkers too.
okay, one step further. the act of recording is imo utterly hilarious.
if you can't laugh at it, i am so sorry for you. if you think it should be tolerated instead of wiped from the face of the earth
stupid fukin brainwash music, all of it. you want sounds to stimulate your neurons, open your ears. the best of the best ambient/noise musicians still haven't gotten that thru for society yet.
"oh here look at this map of my brain i made"
people and their music
f**k off.
how funny is "the greatest love of all" coming outta a multimillion dollar industry? "i believe the children are our fukin paycheck"

I have been patiently monitoring this thread just waiting for xoxos to drop by with a contribution.
Well worth the wait.
Even better than I had anticipated really.
