Tracktion - problem - shortcomings

Can't send any program changes that use higher bank No's. So I'm limited to 128 progs - rubbish.

Bank select messages consist of 2 cc messages.. there is a workaround, though not a very friendly one; search the Tracktion forum..

Even then, the selected program always jumps to a different one every time the track is started. Weird...

Sounds like you have a program change in there..

And stuff like MIDI volume and pan....

The standard volume / pan filters work for MIDI as well as audio (so does the pitch-shifter btw). You even get the option to apply the volume changes to velocity instead.. (rtfm )

30 mins later I powered up and loaded the song. Hit play and... Shock, Horror..! The drum parts are missing...!

I mean, they're there on the screen, but they're not playing.

I have some edits which are always confused with MIDI when first opened (I get the warning on some tracks and no sound) The solution is to change the filter order on one of the affected tracks, and then move it back.. works every time for me.

II know there's a lot of very happy Tracktion users here so I just thought I'd ask; Does anyone use it with external hardware synths..?

I use my Micro-Modular a lot, and occasionally fire up my old h/w sampler.. the only problem I ever have is sometimes the timing goes to shit when I waggle the mouse wheel a lot; I just avoid doing that while recording my parts back into T (I mix in software) & I have no problems at all..
