Reason is fine as a closed system for use in low powered cpu systems but these days we have the power :) Anyone feel a kneecaping coming on?

we DO NOT! not if you want to use sfz's and zeta and vanguards and c5000's/ the cpu runs out fast
switch of the porn for a moment then, divx uses a lot of cpu as well :hihi:

Glad your happy with Reason....and just remember to name your kids after me :hihi:

Well, ever heard of freeze? Oh of course not - Reason dosnt have anything powerful enough to need it lol

...and the "to reason or not to reason" war is afoot.

But little do one care about "not vst this" nor "freezing that", please argue with a concert pianist that their grand doesnt have midi out and therefor sucks...

ttoz, I must admit that I too am quite attracted to Reason. I get put off by high cpu choking my computer, bouncing to tracks and overcomplicating things when I'm not all that great at making music to begin with.

A coupe of downsides to me is that I have some software that isn't transferable (such as Cakewalk Project5), and I'd miss some plugins (Reason Sessions). Most other things I could probably do without.

Glad you like it though!

I've had Reason about a week now and am more than reasonably impressed with it. Haven't played with much else, till I got to missing vst's and rewired it to cubase.

MPC-3000 Grooves in reason is at:

http://www.peff.com/reason/index.html

look under the "Reason Effects Configurations" title for the file:

MPC-3000 Grooves.rns

RTFM to use them in a song...

I don't miss any of my plugs when I'm using Reason... because Reason is like one big instrument, that you can program to do anything ...except eat all of your CPU!

...for that you have to go elsewhere

gotta love those NNXT samplers ;)

one thing that does confuse me slightly is the rewire channels, it seems only the 1st pair are stereo and each one is mono after that.

it would be nice to choose mono/stereo outs of reason.

did I miss something.

also I wish the Matrix patterns could be changed via midi notes, not cc3 ?.
