Thank you guys for your opinions.
Besides all the host-dependant problems (It seems that some hosts like Orion and FLStudio have big problems with synthedit synth) I'm interested in the sound. If it does weird whistles and noises in the host XYZ or does farts and burps in the host ACB, franky I don't care so much. I tested it in Cubase SX2, EnergyXT, Traktion, miniHost and VSTHost and it works like a charm. Too many different hosts out there!!
Btw, below A1 isn't much important as a 73 keys Mark I starts from A1

My only concern is those low notes, they sound just too muffled and dirty
as you get above say C3, the mids start sounding alot like a sampled rhodes that doesnt have enough samples mapped. The highs also sound like they could use more work.
Ok.. now I'm a bit confusedIt's not quite as muddy in the middle octave, nor as strident at the top end as a real Rhodes. As far as I'm concerned
This can be sorted out.One small issue -- From note A1 down, there's a large "thump" in the sound that I don't remember being quite that loud on the real Rhodes, unless you hit the key really hard. The thump is present on the real piano -- it's some sort of action noise. It just takes a big jump in volume in the VST at A1 and below.

Well.. actually I used some custom modules (the same for MrRay 2.2) so it's not 100% pure SE.and this was done in SynthEdit???
Oh... It's just an experiment.. for nowWhy don't you release it?

Guido, this is kickass!
REALLY great response and dirt when you hit it hard!
Unfortunately still suffering from the same Logic problems (constant beep getting louder and louder), but defenitely working just great in SX.

I will try to explain better. Basically the harmonics werent exactly right. It sounded alittle bit crispy and maybe alittle aliased. the timbre wasalso not perfect.ZioKiller wrote:Thank you guys for your opinions.

same as foosnark the "fixed size buffers" thing is a good workaround. thanks for that.foosnark wrote:I have this problem too in FLStudio 5. If I turn on "use fixed size buffers" it goes away.brianbrian wrote:Thanks for this. It is pretty straightfoward and uses very little CPU. It makes a pretty horrible noise in OrionPlatinum, and also makes harsh noise in energyXT until I tweak the "Stiffness" control. This stops all the noise and it seems to play OK after that for a few notes until the noise returns.

The Rhodes emulation can be added to this comparison of other Rhodes emulations.

Although I'm mainly interested in an A/B comparison with a real Rhodes.

Kick ass! This is a huge improvement over the original Mr. Ray. Don't know what you did, but LE2 is really starting to sound like an authentic Rhodes. Much more body, oomph and authentic tone, especially when you run it through a tube amp sim. Sorry, I don't own a real Rhodes, but I've played them listened to a lot of recordings. I think you're definitely on the right track.

I was thinking to release it and calling it "MrRay SeventyThree" limiting the keyspan to 73 keys (from E1 to E7)...
could it be a good name?

This version sounds excellent... Think I prefer it to Lounge Lizard
Working on a tune using it at the moment... Hopefully I'll take the wraps off soon
