look, zynaddsubfx has been a disappointment for me...but I'll tell you why:
for me it's not only the best free synth but one of the best including the payware. its sound is incredible, and its mangling possibilities amazing. I foloowed it almost from the beginning.
BUT
then as a vst plug in it doesn't work well. it usually crashes my FL, no more than 1 instance can be opened, its multipage character buggers me...
so yes, it's a synth I'd pay for...if it worked as a vst should work.

Downloaded it, and I love it too.pheeleep wrote:retrodelay.. retrodelay..
did I mention retrodelay?
For those who are two lazy to find it themselves,
http://www.e-phonic.com/vstplugins/retrodelay.html
Big Tick Dual Delay can be found here.origami wrote:but you have 2 very good ones for free:
1. Big Tick Dual Delay, for panning delay.
and...
2. e-phoniq Retrodelay. For me, the best delay plug in. it's not only a delay, it also has a reverb, filters, lfos and distortion included, perfect for experimentalism. my favourite effect plug in definitely.

Wow. That was a lot of writing.
Personally I wish I had $120 to spend on OhmBoyz, but Retrodelay is pretty awesome.

Hi Origami,
Fl Studio is my host too
yes you can only use one instance of zynaddsubfx but it is a multitimberal synth, so with one instance you can assign 16 different sounds to 16 different MIDI Outs in Fl. That's 16 zynaddsubfx sounds per project.. not bad really...
It doesn't crash FL for me. As long as you only have one instance opened it has never crashed FL here..
Well I do feel for you in that it does need a few improvements, but even as is, I love it, and can definitely use it in FL..

You've captured my thoughts, exactly. It has a beautiful sound but is too unweildy for me in FL5.

yes.
I remember the synth came out when I was about to improve my synth collection with some payware synth. then I tried zynaddsubfx and I was amazed and thought 'I don't need to buy a synth'. But after seeing how poorly it works as a vst, I was disappointed as I said. And finally I bought Reaktor Session.
I hope it will work ok some day though. that synth deserves to be properly enjoyed.

Bionic Delay and Analogic Delay from
http://www.interruptor.ch/vst_overview.shtml
They're both reworkings of Logic's two delay units, the other downloads are well worth a look too.

Wow.
Ive got Retrodelay and now I realize that any synth sounds great with a bit of delay.
And then you guys post two more good delays!

actually, for a real quick delay, I use bionic delay because it is dead simple.
Classic and Retro come out for the final mix.

Hi all,
My favourite for ping pong delay is the delay in Voxengo's AnalogFlux Suite, though it's a little confusing to use at first.
I find that the ping pong delay created by Kjaerhus Audio's Classic Delay is biased slightly to one side, because of the particular way the delays decay.
Bye,
Steve
