Well I'm not too interested in some half-assed drum machine (my guess) that has less features than I have already. So although I did take the time to look in the database here, I didn't want to spend the time searching the net. I kinda work on the assumption that if its any good it'll be here.

But thanks for the link. After a brief look I was right, it doesn't look all that much. There are more featured things in the database that are freeware.

As far as I can remember, Machine 2 doesn't have the handy little play file in reverse button that Hammerhead has. Anything else that does?

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh  well if i didn't know what the hell it was in the first place, I was hardly likely to know whether it was a vsti/hardware or what! I thought we were KvR Audio now though? we still vst only? Never knew we were.
Sorry, don't mean to highjack the thread. Carry on with the drum nonsense..........

Look. I think you have serious problems you need to address. Your name is Big Karma but you are not acting big. You are hardly giving off good vibes either.
My question still stands. What is Hammerhead? I can't see it in the database, no doubt thats my fault(?) and I have never heard of it (again my fault no doubt).

f**k off

I'd agree with snareSpanker. I actually started playing around with HammerHead cos I was trying to teach myself drumming and it seemed to help.. and then I ended up trying to write music in fruity and it seemed like quite a natural transition.
I also wrote a little HammerHead to Fruity utility that creates a fruity file from a hammer head loop. If you want a copy I can email it to you.

Look dearie, what IS your problem? Time of the month again? Don't mean to be patronising but come on eh?
How are you gonna get anywhere in life with an attitude like that?
Where are you gonna hang out when you get banned for abusing the rules?

no-f**king-compromise - just what is YOUR problem??

Sorry pHz, I've tried to stay out of it as promised to you, but I can no longer do that.

no_comp, you follow Big Karma around and constantly ruin her threads.
What are you, a f**king stalker or something?
Have you got no life of your own that you have to follow one of the few female members of this site around and wind her up for the sake of it?

It's pretty f**king obvious to anyone with half a brain that because you constantly troll her, she doesn't wanna speak to you.
Why can't you just accept that you pathetic arsehole?

You don't need to be in this thread (you never need to be in her threads) but you are anyway, and you keep coming back.

Do yourself and everybody else a favour and LEAVE THE GIRL ALONE!!!! :x
Twat.

Or to quote Big Karma:
f**k off.

It seems she can't post any music or even make a query without you being there deliberatley ruining her threads.
Go play on the autobahn or something.

I enjoy Hammerhead - it is easy to grasp and I find it easy to tinker about with and use. Have just about exhausted its potential now tho and would like some different sounds to add to my collection. However as I am by no means a tech wiz I was looking for something simple, like it.

Tis a shame there are no other kits to add to it to alter the sound - if there is and I didn't know about it please give a heads up!

As some of you know I am still pretty new to the music making malarky and so simple to use and prefereably free/v cheap is always good, am planning to splash out when I have more knowledge but for now I am still learning the very basics. Still struggling with the techy lingo too!

Thanks again for the advice and help

i'd have thought there'd be several synthedit creations like this already. shuffle, reverse, 16 steps.. dhwp2..

gotta be.. if not, throw some more functions at me and remember not to draw a moustache on me in the kvr yearbook.
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

(I think this is right... someone told me this ages ago)
The guy who wrote HammerHead ended up being involved in a bit of Steinberg software that's very similar to HammerHead. I can't remember what it's called tho(I'll try to remember to post when I get home cos I actually have it at home). It's commercial software.. but it does have different kits, and iirc, you can add your own sounds. God knows whether Steinberg still sell/support it tho.

(Not wishing to push Fruity *too* much :) ) ... Maybe try out a demo of FruityLoops 3 (or even 2).. it's a lot more basic than FL Studio and might make the transition easier. But if you just want a drum machine, xoxos is right... theres gotta be some decent freeware thing out there already. Especially synthedit ones.
And don't forget other softstudios/sequencers... Reason has a nice drummachine... and ComputerMusic have their freeware sequencer. And I'm sure I saw a freeware drum VSTi with stepsequencer somewhere...

Doogle

(just thought... I might see if it's possible to hack HammerHead to put in my own samples... it'll be an interesting exercise in futility, but I like the HammerHead interface enough to warrant it :) )

Cool info!

Cheers Doogle - let me know if find what you're looking for when you get home!
