Not that I know of...You haven't done any acting have you? OK, I suppose everyone out in La La Land has had a bit part or been in extra in something, but you've never had a guest appearance on "7th Heaven," right?...

Well, Mr. Ford, that wasn't an actual pedal steel, but an imitation using a little gadget called the Epiphone EZ bender, which fits on any guitar with a Les Paul style bridge system...merkelford wrote:Loves me some pedal steel.

Oh, I got that much. In fact I was secretly disappointed that I have no guitars with appropriate bridges. Actually, I do have a cheap Ovation acoustic that I'll like to hook a Hipshot trilogy bridge to someday to cover my alternate-tuning fetish (not a bending thing, though)...Sleek Month wrote:Well, Mr. Ford, that wasn't an actual pedal steel, but an imitation using a little gadget called the Epiphone EZ bender, which fits on any guitar with a Les Paul style bridge system...
Really, you do have to treat each string as an independent sound generator. Either you set up multiple synths as you mention, or you have to custom-code one to be multi-timbral.How can we emulate a pedal steel with synths/could you build a pedal steel emulator?
[...] yeah, you could run multiple instances of a synth, bending one, but that would be gay.![]()
Not in the works. I am working on a scripting system for my Yamaha EZ-EG guitar that will allow me to send to one channel per string and only apply the whammy bend to the strings I want. But that's a solution for multiple gay daisy-chained synths. So, how about it, M.? Got a virtual instrument that you can bend notes independantly in you?
You could certainly do volume swells with your mod wheel: luckily, that's on an all-strings basis. Or you could have average note velocity do a switch between swelled and picked notes....it's have to incorporate the volume swell/slow attack of steel also, but have that be variable, as there are times when notes are hit with quick attack also...
