Okay - downloaded Beatburner and it looks fantastic - loop preview is wonderful and it seems to stretch any WAV, even the non-acidised ones! So I started to play with it and it crashed my machine! Tried again and it crashed again! :( It might be the demo version, but then again maybe Muzys just doesn't like it! I have written to Gmedia to see if they have any suggesions. So thanks Topaz, but I have a sinking feeling my problems are not over just yet!

Downloading the demo to test it with Tracktion.
Tracktion 1.6 ($80) is my seq ATM. Lots of eXT (~50$) fans around also.

Hi - if I really have to go for a new host (which I REALLY don't want to do) then I would probably choose Ableton Live. However, Muzys runs loads of other plugins I have (Plugsound, Synth 1, in fact all of those I have downloaded from KVR) with absolutely no problems at all, so I'm not convinced my Muzys needs replacing. Anyhow, I'm just trying another loop browser I just found called Devine Machine (www.devine-machine.com) so I'll let you know if that performs any better. Thanks guys!

OK - my playday is over and its Ableton Live for me. Muzys - it was good while it lasted, but its time for a change. Ableton - you have the most brilliant WAV loop preview, pattern sequencing and simple built in sampler for instruments I have ever seen anywhere. I think I've finally found what I was looking for! Thanks guys!

FYI: Beatburner doesn't stretch anything. It will however fit a loop to time by resampling.21stcentury wrote:Okay - downloaded Beatburner and it looks fantastic - loop preview is wonderful and it seems to stretch any WAV, even the non-acidised ones! Send a bug report stating: OS, host version and exactly what you do to cause the crash to support[at]codeaudio.com.

I love Ableton Live for this and it's the main reason I got it. 3 folders for all my samples that goes all the way down the side of my screen that I can scroll through.... WITH A MOUSEWHEEL! Then drag my drum samples into Impulse, blah blah. Couldn't be easier.
Why doesn't mouse wheel seem to work in anything anymore. It seems like it used to work in everything then it just stopped. Is it because developers don't want Mac users to feel left out or something? Oh well more business for Ableton, the company that thinks about ergonomics and not number of LFO's. (JUST FIX THE CPU USAGE!

Try Tobybear's mini VST host.
http://www.tobybear.de/p_minihost.html
I think it'll do what you're looking for and it's only $15 (donationware). It's a pretty cool little standalone VST host that "plays" 1 VST. It's got a mini sequencer and a mini wave player and a mini bar... Ok, I made up the bar thing, but the rest is true.
