I've got an 8mbps line. It seems fast enough at the moment. I'm transferring a lot of wav/aiff files and video material (TV and radio stuff & mastering jobs), so it is nice to have the speed.
Since I upgraded from 2mbps to 8mbps I haven't been fustrated with the speed even once.
Also I did some 'piping mod' to my firefox browser so now it's even more fast while surfing.

Mine's a 600k DSL connection. It's plenty fast for downloading, and all the faster packages available where I am (Comcast, Roadrunner, etc.) won't let me UPLOAD faster than the 256k that my upload speeds are now. Besides, it's cheap.
If I could get something affordable where I could double my upload speed, I'd think of switching. Until then, I'm happy where I am.

isn't this more suited for off topic?

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

3.0 Mbit down/384 Kbit up on Roadrunner cable. Costs $45, and while I could use faster uploads (since the line's shared by three people), I'm pretty happy with it.

Still on dial-up here
I feel sooooooooooooooooo yesterday. At least there are 14 other paupers like me.
I've been working on the missus to get broadband for ages...but it's always "but then we'll have to change our address, and it's too much hassle". Of course that logic doesn't apply to her little friend in the bottom drawer - put that through the mains instead of battery, and extra power is suddenly such a great thing.
(still....it frees me up to make more music...
