yes, this sounds really good - i´m really thinking about getting it.digitalmessiah wrote:if the adapted version comes with the nn19 or xt then you can make a refill. mapping samples and layering zones is easy on both samplers. but save your money for 2.5 and get the upgrade for free. im sure that the prices for v2.5 in germany has come down. once you get your copy, download the refill packer at the props site. it's free. then email porps if they could host it for you. im sure it will be no problem to them.
what kind of refill are you trying to make anyway?
cheers!
g.no
well i´m not totally sure , perhaps some strange things, electronic drumkits, me singing
@herman: this is quite a good price!

Reason 2.5 Full version is $199 right now at Guitar Center here in the states. Not sure where you are coming from, but you can look at their website and see if they can get one to you, or if you know where one is. Or better yet, go to the SamAsh website or Musician's Friend, and call them and have them check out Guitar Center's price and they will both meet it, since it's an advertised price.

Would you happen to have any qualification to get an educational version?
Those usually are like 50% off the full price.

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

sonicfire, slightly OT, but: rather than charging outright for soundfonts/refills, you might consider the way Herman Witkam does with his sample sets.
Herman has a "donate some money" button (Paypal, I think) on his website. Judging by the response of others, his samples appear to be very good, and soon as I can convert them into a format I can use and audition, I'll probably waft a little cash his way.
Same with Guido Scognamiglio / ZioKiller, who made Mr. Ray and ORGANized Trio. He gives them away free, but I liked his stuff so much I sent in what I hope was a suitable contribution.
Handling payment this way, they'll not get wealthy. But it lets everyone enjoy the fruits of their labors. And though a lot of people will take the freebie without paying, some users will pay. Of those who don't pay, some simply can't; no money. Some don't believe in paying for software. Some will download a product but never get around to using it. Some are inconsiderate. Still, a little money will come in. I'm sure it's not enough -- never is! -- but it's better than nothing.
Another thing about this method: it lets each user choose how much he or she is willing and able to pay. Nobody need feel put out because they've paid too much. And they can even pay a little extra just to help promote the creators, to reward their kindness and industry.
Finally, it garners a great deal of good will, and that's a commodity that most developers can't get enough of. :-)
Just one option, one that I particularly like and thought worth mentioning.

P.S.: If your "contribute" button were placed next to an explanation that donations would go toward getting you Reason (or other software for making sample sets) I'll bet that would increase interest...

or a mars-guitar
i´l see
wow! i love what you have in mind. im a big fan of ambient and an abstract guitar refill would be good. also, i wouldnt mind adding some glithy electronic kit to my already-vast refill library.

well, how about reason adapted eBay-
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eName=WDVW
right now it's going for 11GBP [21 bucks], with three days left.
oh yeah, they're throwing in a cheap midi controller, too.
it's in manchester, so the shipping won't kill you.
PS- i had a talk with robocoder, and it said it wanted me to beta test it. heh.
no.
really.
