dont know. i actually use the vw exclusively on the master.
for vocals i go with hydratone and the uad-1 plugs .. :)

but you can get top results with the VW on vocals ..

I tried it on vocals for the first time last night. I guess I just need practice, but I had a hard time to get the signal to even out (and that's what a compressor's for, first and foremost right?)

And second, I had problems with the low being to juiced, and then the highs, in turn. It seemed like I would fix one and throw the other out of wack.

Like I said, probably user error...

I dont understand why VW is no 1 in the polls.

I assume you didnt use it on the ones you sent me, or a pop shield, or a noise gate or a compressor :hihi:

Putting the VW on every track is the same bad idea as using a heavy driven tape on every track (I heard a mix recently done with the saturated tape technique and it sounded much worse then it is expected from a tape recorded mix). Overdoing with any tool is a missunderstanding of its features :D

There are however some (acoustic) tracks in the mix which can really get a great sound from the VintageWarmer with proper settings - and this is where it should exclusively be used.
