I vote for all those crappy 'Stars on' and 'Hooked on Classics' disco medley records (not to mention stuff like 'A Fifth of Beethoven' and 'Night on Disco Mountain') from the end of the 70's, which were the precedent for all subsequent horrors of that type, and led to all those Carl Orff rave knockoffs at the beginning of the 90's.

That dire version of Stevie Winwoods "Follow Me" that's been doing the music channel rounds for far too long now.

Oi, those rocked! Especially that one with the Star Wars theme in it :D

Erik Prydz and whoever did that Jefferson Airplane remix should be hung drawn and quartered though :o
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

This might not qualify, as I think it's kinda-sorta a spoof, but Rick Wakeman did a reprehensibly disco-flavored arrangement of "Rhapsody in Blue" on his Rhapsodies album.

Some real fun on that album, light silliness for the most part. Polar opposite of Eight Wives or Journey to the Center of the Earth, both of which I like rather more, but it's... well, fun stuff.

This I've got to hear :D

Oh another one, there's a DJ Tiesto remix of 'Street Spirit' by Radiohead.. Sacrilege IMO. :-o

Same with Willy Orbit's Adagio for Strings... An unpleasant aberration in an otherwise exemplary musical career :hihi:

Don't know the, uh, artist, but there is a stairway to heaven club mix thingy that aside from being cheesy is also really bad.
..what goes around comes around..

that's a bit of a broad statement there
think it includes all my stuff too

I vote for most every song that wasn't intended for club anthems, but got turned into one anyway

The club mix of simply reds rendition of 'mellow my mind' from Neil Young's 'tonight's the night' album is a major offender because I consider that one sacred.

The sexy workout video that was banned in the UK (supposedly) is what made this one popular. I guess ass shots and pumping girls sells music

have to disagree there, I really like the Ferry Corsten mix. Admittedly that fulfils the criteria for this thread but I still like it. I'll get me coat...

Have you EVER heard that much compression on ANY song?! It's a catchy song, but the compressor pumps so hard that it's stressful to listen to... :)

don't think that Eric Prydz video was banned here - if I had a pound for every time I saw it....

it's a completely one-dimensional record, with insane compression that would make Daft Punk nervous, but I like it in small doses.

The Pet Shop Boys rework of "somwhere" from West Side Story is genius in my book - how they always manage to make an ecstatic stomper really sad at the same time is unique I think
