The song is called "altitude" and it's made in Tracktion using mainly Crystal (thanx TC for the beautiful presets) and a REMO drums soundfont in SFZ. Also used drumatic 3, Karnage (thanx Dave and Ian, lots of ampsim plugins, retrodelay, Classic series plugins , my guitar and a well known sample from MC5.

CAUTION:
1)no production skills were involved in the making of this track
2)contains chords (no more than four however)

this is...idiot proof

i've put the comedy aside for this month and focused on 'genuine stuff' - that said, the lyrics are still abstracted nonsense:

push the button, break the day
push it once, push it all the way
do that baby and the bluebirds
will never fly

won't you help me if i lose my way
won't you tell me if i flake away
some people do, it must be true
but i'm not one of those f**kers standing by

can't wait for the sap to rise
gotta get a plug in the socket
sitting here with my headless eyes
ah there's nothing better

got a plan for a hole in my pocket
cut a slit for the money to come
it's money made
and money broken
it's people having it all
having it all

won't you help me if i lose my way
won't you tell me if i flake away
won't you tell me if i lose

tools:
musically this celebrates symptohmpe and manystation for the 'freeform' solo and pads respectively

also used were synth 1, sr-202, cheeze machine, plugsound free, psp nitro, kjaerhus classic plugs, luxonix lfx-1310, slim slow slider lpgeq2

all hosted in energyxt

Another first entry, sticking up for the Tracktioneers at this point in my life.
Hello Children

Made in Tracktion with a load of HomeMade/commercial/freeware plugins like: Groove Agent, String Theory, Pixel Burn (my own vsti). Couple of samples I created and used the Built in Tracktion sampler. I used far to many plugs to be bothered listing, but I can prove it if need be!

In the November contest I presented the incredibly low rated "Neurosurgery for Dummies"to the world. It was a weird song, done by a weird guy. Only a few weird people liked it. Now, in the Free for All, I did it again! Only this time it's meant for hardcore weirdos! Take the "experimental" drums(meaning: cacophony) in "Neurosurgery for Dummies" and multiply them by two! Take the nice melodies and replace them with devastating frequencies! Take the dirty production and dip it in mud - That would be only about 5% as dirty as this thing is. You're about to witness a song so ugly you will never be the same person before. After you listen to this you'll find yourself unable to listen to anything other than Elton John! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!
(Of course, this is misleading publicity)
And now, with no further ado, I present the sequel to "Neurosurgery for Dummies"...

VASCULAR SURGERY FOR DUMMIES:

If you want the finest torture you can get, download the .ogg file.

In the other hand, if you don't take quality seriously, get the .mp3 file, although I can't condone such irresponsible behaviour.

Seriously, if your player reads .ogg files get the .ogg file, as this song sounds MUCH better with the extra frequencies.

And don't take the publicity seriously. It's beyond mankind's abbility to do something as cruel as making someone listen to Elton John exclusively. And it hasn't got deadly frequencies at all. The dirty thing is accurate, though...

Enjoy, as long as you possess the fully working genitalia to...

Anyone fancy a bit of Drum and Bass?

T2tal

Made with Tracktion v.2.0.0.24 using no plugs other than the native ones, and those in the "third parter" folder. ie: Built in sampler, and mda JX10 & DX10.. plus a bit of guitar of course. (I mic'ed my amp: does that disqualify me?)

There's also a drum loop in there from my old drummer, Leon "Solomon" Neal, which I sliced manualy on the time-line. (Bollocks to Beatslicers, I say!)

Mastered with Final Mix (of course!)

Post

This time I went for a more orchestral/ symphony-like entry. Hope you like. Stuff used: XV-3080 (piano), kontakt and cubase, +.

God Bless You!
