haha - i agree, they became rubbish. Like Sicklecell666 said, i think they dropped the ball somewhere between Gish and Siamese Dream.

Some cracking rock tunes on there early releases (Rhinoceros, Starla, I am One) but like all heavy rock groups they reverted to type and vanished up their own arses.

Yep, a Mellon collie and the infinite sadness fan as well. Brilliant record, couldn't get enough of it back when it came out. So much great ideas stuffed in it...

this ava adore discussion is always fin to read

i rate ava adore as high as the infinite sadness, very high indeed

but the singers last band, zwan or so, was pretty much shit, pumpkins minus enegery minus creativity

I pretty much agree with this ...although I think that siamese has it's moments. i also think there are some really good B sides.

Pieces Iscariot is their best album...

I saw them in 93, someone threw a shoe on stage and hit billy, he then threw a tantrum and left the stage after like 2 songs...

I then saw them again at lollapolloza 94, and he said "I dont care what you throw on stage this time, WE'RE PLAYING." He then sat there for 10 minutes while everyone decided to throw anything within arms reach on the stage. Finally he said, the longer you throw stuff on stage the longer we wait to play...

Then they play, and they are rocking, until billy sits for 25 minutes and sings "rock and Roll" over and over and over and over to fill up his set.

so I didnt like them live, but they are a great band and billy is an enormous talent...
