Hmm, Dimension looks like a cool rompler. 4 elements and multipart envs... No demo mp3s though

Was meaning samples and preset content etc, it def doesnt yet. But then you can fit it on one floppy so there are advantagesjens wrote:90909 wrote:I admit it doesnt match on the content front though.jens wrote:90909 wrote: EnergyXT
correct!
I think it does - I only fear it doesn't yet match on the stability/maturity/performance/consistency front...
- but that will come!![]()

I still don't get why they keep advertising it as their first RGC engineered synth when everyone knows Psyn was. "Official" maybe...floyd wrote:Hmm, Dimension looks like a cool rompler. 4 elements and multipart envs... No demo mp3s though![]()

I would be very intrested if it were, has wave guide synthesis as well!, but I think it will be one of the main attractions, so very doubtfull it would be.floyd wrote:Hmm, Dimension looks like a cool rompler. 4 elements and multipart envs... No demo mp3s though![]()

I haven't seen word on pricing for prior (not new) owners of P5 or Sonar? As anyone stumbled across likely price?

If you go to the ordering page it gives a quote for Sonar owners. P5 is 199.00 with a free upgrade to P52.

Thanks ResOrder I own both P5 and Sonar already and saw the offer that you wrote of - but not the price for those pure of heart cakewalk-ians that already own both.

P5 looks sick, I'm definitely gonna spill some pennies for this one, it looks perfect for those folks who love ableton Live and sonar, looks like the best of both and like a good combo for my team of live and fL. cakewalk really listen to people, of all of the bigboys
they have the least ego, only prob i'm seeing is that basicly it's almost a Live clone and if Ableton does us right Live 5 might have all of what p5 has and more... oh well I guess thats just how it goes, i'll still have both

oh my goodness, just going through every page of that P5 link, I've got to ask for non-previous owners it'll cost $289bucks, I dare say that next to Fruity project 5 should be the best investment in (Paid for software) I mean the features look rediculous, i'm a devoted Ableton Live user and will continue to be so but dollar
for dollar P5 just kills it, i'd even say at 289 price point that takes the throne of Fruity.
I must ask if you are a sonar user and aren't concerned
with notation, or video why in the world would you get sonar over Project 5?

Well, most Inet retailers appear to have the old version for $199 and are advertising a free upgrade to V.2 if you buy before the end of April. In fact, www.digitraxx.com has it for $179,inc.shipping. Can't vouch for that place though.

couple questions for you P5 users if I may.
1. how functional is the midi sequencing? IMO FL has the best piano roll/editing features and Live 4 has the worst (which is one of the two main reasons I sold it) How does P5 1.5 (or 2) stack up?
2. How is the time stretch quality? Again I think FL has the best and Live has the worst. To be fair Live sounds great with percussion loops at the original pitch but load try loading in a rhodes loop or something...ouch.
How about the loop manipulation features? seems like cakewalk took a big bite outta Live with version 2 which is great if the quality is decent.
