I read an interview with him in scratch magazine, he basically has a whole rack of synths, he's got the emu pcm modules, nord lead 2 and 3, that kind of minimoog rack clone (i think is from studio electronics), a supernova and other stuff. And he says he tries to blend in hiphop some more european club sounds, from techno to trance, he's a big fan of the 'rave' concept i guess.
As a vsti i'd get either the korg legacy or something like the imposcar plus vanguard. Yeah, vanguard is definitely something lil jon would like i guess
