The next version of SUBSonar should be able to edit, save, and restore the 'Configure as tempo-based effect' settings for all effects plugins...

From my experience I've always had to check that manually. OhmForce FX plugs, for instance.

EDIT: On the other hand, VSTi (instruments, specifically), get tempo automatically.

this is my experience also. some of the classic series, Sonicbytes Gat'R, and Luxonix LFX-1310 all require this box to be checked to sync.

BTW, for SONAR 3 users (like me), Cakewalk Adapter is only updated to 4.4.2. The tempo sync option is not even available with this patch. To enable tempo sync, we have to wrap the VST as a DXi. I think this works exactly the same as the new tempo sync option, except that the VST effect will be grouped under the DXi instrument menu, which may look a bit weird.

the current version of the Cakewalk vst adapter has always been available as download on their site

but it i strue that configuring an effect ad a Dxi synth and configuring an effect to enable tempo-sync is pretty much the same thing, except for which list/where that choice will show up

The current version? I can only find 4.4.2 on their site. I think 4.4.4 is only available as part of SONAR 4's latest patch.
