Better than what hardware? It may be better than some hardware, but not the majority of modern hardware.

A side by side comparison with my DSI Evolver showed that I much prefer my Evolver. Calm down, go back to the drawing board and try again.
Excuse all the blood.

hahaha!
compare it to one the coolest machines out there, and when it doesn't measure up then it's just not good enough!!!
good one.
It is better than a lot of hardware. (I am talking about the Ventura 6, which is inside DeltaSP). There aren't many hardware synths out there that can compare to the flexibility and sound of Ventura 6.
I AM NOT SAYING THERE ARE NONE. don't get all freaked out and start calling me shit.
(that's not directed at you, lawnmower of the damned, much more of a general plea for lenience )
I won't bother listing the ones that do measure up, I think we know what they are.
Anyway there is a hell of lot of hardware out there, and there is metric tonnes of it that sucks. So even if you don't think it is all that great, it still kicks the ass of many useless chunks of hardware.
What I am saying though, is that V6 measures up to several of the good pieces of hardware as well.
:D burn the witch!

Keeping things in perspective, I normally make stuff and say, oh thats like X... or sounds like Y... . But when I made these new plugs I was hearing things I had not heard before from plugins. I just wanted to share this experience with anyone that was into something new and maybe get some useful feedback about things at the same time. Thanks for your input thus far. BTW, lookout for Ventura6 as VSTi if you liked it on Monday.

Thanks. It sounds great.

I assume that you were running the EVOLVER through your soundcard in order to get a fair comparison? If not, then it is meaningless. If so, then tell me how many instances of EVOLVER you can have running at once? How do it's features compare to similarly priced VSTi? Are there any restrictions on the demo version?

Thats how I run mine.

I like it, a lot. Its definitely the work of someone who thought a lot about getting the most of a monosynth architecture. I know you wouldnt pay for one, but I suspect you'd actually like it, soundwise.

Like my VST's, an infinite number if I bounce to disk. :)

Its cheaper than any of them once you figure in the total hardware cost. And its smaller than my laptop, and doesnt need a monitor to use. And it has a lower CPU usage than anything VST. .

And it is a pretty interesting architecture, IMO. Great sounds out of it, that not much stuff has the signal chain to emulate. Not that it couldnt be done, but Im not aware of anything that is similar.

Are there any restrictions on the demo version?

Yup; it only plays a specific set of MP3s.
