I think it's just cause Steinberg sometimes doesn't know a single thing about useability. Heh, not that I dislike Cubase though, heck I even work teaching it. :)

Actually, Magix isn't at all crap. I reviewed it and was quite impressed with it for the price they're asking. I mean sure it still feels a bit like Ejay and it's likely not something I'd ever use. But it does have VSTi, VST and DX support with a decent mixer. So you could actually use it as an alternative to programs like Orion, Project 5 and FLStudio.
