Just tried Boogesx and got a couple of nice chunky tones but is the volume supposed to cut out periodically?

Its a good idea, essential youve got, say, low latency, impulse unit, with distortion out. Which I think is probably the best approach for a guitar amp. You could have two versions, one for guitar and one for base.I suppose at a guess, type of impulses and distortion would count. Instead of the distortion it could be matched up whith one of their valve warmer units. As a product Id guess the GUI would count largely too. Oh,too bad the alpha looks like a demo(sound cut outs). Very good, theres tons of potential there.

Will Boogex be a commercial release?

Sorry, I dont mean that you should copy all the tones!
Of the samples I sent you there are only two types. The first is the high presence, modern tone. The SVT bass cab impulses with SM52 can get close to this.
The others are all traditional rock Marshall tones and all share a similar quality. They all have slightly more presence compared to the Marshall cab+SM57 impulses bundles with the plugin. I cant seem to dial this in as its simply not there on the impulse to boost. I think the colouration may be coming from high end mic preamps after to SM57? Is there anyway we can have that presence in the plug in?
Best regards,
GrantsV

The umpulses being used here are free? From NoiseVault etc?
But being used in a commercial plug?
How...ethical.

I just gave this a go, and this sounds a lot more like the solid state amps I've played through than it does any tube amps. The distortion doesn't seem to react to pick dynamics the same way one would expect from a tube amp, and the highs are really harsh. For instance, as I pick quieter there should be less distortion than picking harder, as I'd then be driving the tube harder causing it to saturate more, this doesn't seem to be happening here. This sounds more like a solid state amp or distortion pedal. Also it sounds like even at would should be slight overdrive levels the highs are distorting too soon/too much, as you increase the tone/drive it becomes less noticeable as everything's distorting now, but it definately seems like the high end starts distorting way too soon.
I actually thought this sounded best with the Fender Vibro impulse responses for the really super clean sounds, but even then it's just not quite as dynamic as a tube amp.
BTW I've been playing guitar for 12 years now, and have owned/still own both tube and solid state amps, so I'm not coming into describing these sounds with no points of reference. I still think Line6 is leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else as far as modeling goes buy I've heard good things from the Vox Tonelab, and the Twang demo from NI was actually pretty decent at approximating sounds from my Fender Twin just too limited IMO, while still sounding quite squashed.
Hope these comments help you out Aleskey.

I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

I think they are Beamsonic???, anyway its only in Alpha stage at the momement. Noise vault is good place to get amp or speaker impulses. Voxengo have themselves free impulses made from thier impulse modeler, I think? I made some impulses of real spaces, if your interested, they are there at Noise vault. If anyone finds mine interesting enougth, I would be very grateful, if they have made any themselves, to send me a few, to add to my pallete.
