Sleepgolfer thank you for posting your sound (very good), but the point here is to have one guitar sound and many VST amps with small amount of reverb. Only then we will be able to distinguish them fairly.
So, use the fender clip and put it through your setup.

Can I suggest you upload the dry fender file in wave format instead, mman? I think that will make the comparisons more fair...
Anyway, I've run the dry mp3 through Native Instruments AC Box Combo and Amplitube.
Native Instruments AC Box Combo
Amplitube British Crunch
Amplitube Solid State Clean
Amplitube Tube Clean
All the clips have a bit of the internal spring verb added. Did all the clips on headphones, so if there's too little/too much reverb/bass that's why...
Jorgen.

here is also a trash example, to be fair I did not use festures like lof-filtering and delay etc. also, trash is very versatile, so this is just the sound I like:

I think they all sound great....lol, reminds me of sitting in a sam-ash music store and listening to that old dude that's always there just f**king around with a strat all day.
I'll put this mp3 through a few of my amp sims and see what i can get.
peace!

Ok...here's two more for you guys to compare...would do more but i've gotta get to work.
Number 1 is through the BeatModel Amplee DX Plug:
AMPLEE
Number 2 is through alien connections' Revalver.
REVALVER
I ran it through guitar rig too...forgot to export before i closed out.......i'll post that one later coz it's definitely the best amp sim i've heard so far....though i'm waiting for amplitube 2.
peace!

I've uploaded Sleepgolfer's files to my site. Yousendit was running slow, figured I'd help the cause a bit.
You can get them here:
rednef twin slight tremolo

That is a very good idea. I'm a baby-sitter tonight (tommorow night too), can't go to my studio. Can somebody help out.AKJ wrote:I think to make a real test we would have to ajust rms powerlevels, otherwise we will be fooled by vol

Sorry can do it right now. As I sad, I can't go to my studio. Maybe latter on.jdahlb wrote:Can I suggest you upload the dry fender file in wave format instead, mman? I think that will make the comparisons more fair...
Jorgen.
Anyway, I think it's still good enough to give us some idea about this.
