DOA is just a shitty place.
you are being ignorant.
you stated the same thing some time ago, i proved you wrong (by showing you that skilled & famous d&b producers frequent DoA) and you answered that you "wasn't being literal" about the age thing.
if you visit the board, there are lots of idiots. but browse some pages on the grid and you'll have to change your mind.

it's you being the idiot when you are unable to learn. decide yourself. Image

I mean as a general. Of course there are very good people there, but they are rare compared to here. I left that place because the people just simply arent as knowledgable/experienced as at KvR. People over there very often talk bollocks. If you dont agree, mention "reese" over there.

Proved me wrong? What famous producers post there? What are their nicks?

I kind of see your point, there's a lot of waste on the board, and sometimes on the grid, too. Sometimes I like reading it, sometimes it's annoying.
Mainly, there's X reasons for me posting on the grid:
1. There are many samples and I love to contribute myself
2. They talk about production and they are indeed experienced and knowledgeable. KVR folks are, too (lets not discuss who is more knowledgeable, ok?)
3. They keep a certain positivity. Unlike KVR, where every noob question is guaranteed to turn into a flame war.

There are often interviews with D&B producers over there, I think of Noisia, Dom&Roland and others, just check the appropriate section (Q&A) over there. Known DJs announce their sets and High Contrast talks about which sauce is best for eating chips (on the board, that is) and talks about sample sources. Just for a start... :)

yea ive seen the reviews and tutorials. Theyre all good but i dont think they were made for doa?

Anyways the only reason i ever visit doa is to check what artists are hot and not (especially now that everyone has chilled out about Shmendulum)

I would probably post again if they came up with a signature size limit like they do here. It's just too messy.

Post

I disabled signatures in doa long time ago...it helps!

Dead people suck! They're boring and stink, down with dead people! :tantrum:

Forums suck! Too many people with too much time on their hands posting worthless off-topic dreck! :tantrum:

Not true.

If KvR has one thing going for it above all else it's the nice vibe.

That's one of the reasons KvR took off all those years ago.

We have a quality of life here, and most of us value it.

And we rarely have problems that a few kittens won't sort out.

the prime example for a flame war was when i took my time to assemble >500 breaks, wanted to share them with the world, uploaded 160megs with my modem and posted it on kvr and doa.
on kvr, 80% of the people called me a thief or something like that and flamed as they know it best. and they don't even know dj premier or amon tobin. total quality of life, if you ask me
on doa, they were positive and thankful for the samples. nothing more, nothing less.

i don't want to dig out old topics, but this was not exactly what i would call a "nice vibe".

Post

actually, most people here know of amon tobin, and are very open to break sampling? where did this happen?

I imagine this like a greaser/rocker vs. mod war, where kvr is the mods.

I can appreciate your feelings at the time.

But it takes two to start a flame. Flame him not happen on own.

btw I'd love to try some of your 500 breaks - hint, hint :)

i read a bit of that thread over there, i got a little  though so i came back here to my home. it was redundant.

i support refx cause i bought two great plugins from them ages ago -trasherII and beast

the one thing i didnt like was someone wrote that it was refx's fault for putting demos up on their site, cause people can easily crack the demos open.
there are many locks in the world that can be easily picked. it's like saying "i should not be in trouble for breaking into your house cause you put a lock on there that wasnt satisfactory, therefore i'm allowed to break in"
