If you can stand waiting a few more months, it might be worth it. Also, there's nothing more annoying than paying $500 for software only to have the new version released a few months later - and you're stuck having to pay the same upgrade price as everyone else. By waiting a couple or three months, even if you get the current version, you might be eligible for a discounted (or even free) upgrade when it goes to v5.
Seconded. Cakewalk's coming up due for a new version of Sonar pretty soon. Odds are unless it's REALLY got something I need, I'll pass on it and wait for Sonar 6P (if then).

The scenario you describe above is exactly what happened for a lot of happy P5V2 users (-: I got P5V1 at a blow-out price and got P5V2 for free.

Why do you prefer Logic?

I focused now on Cubase, Samplitude and Sonar, tested how long would it take me to build up a demo song in each of them. Although I don't liked the grapphics I favoured Cubase. I really like the layout of Samplitude, but I could not figure out how to create a simple midi track by mouse. ???
