Any update on the ETA of SampleTank 2.1? Or Amplitube 2?

Hi Squids,
This may be floating around somewhere else, but will the 2.1 update require a dongle?

Thanks,
Dan

No, it will not. It can't because the software part of the update is a download and will work with your existing sound set (even though we're also revising the sound set).

MGH wrote:A "developing" SS2 sounds very exciting, Dave! As was mentioned, there is so much raw power there, it would be wonderful to have a place where people can share their combination of elements and other goodies, as well has new "banks" of Combi's or Child patches from SR!

Regarding 2.1; since SS2 is built on the same engine as ST2, I assume the upgrade will be timed very closely? The two things I'm most anxious for is the ability to use the scroll wheel, and to use SS2 as a stand-alone for live apps. I've really gotten into using my Powerbook as a sound module on gigs!

Hopefully soon!

You know, I think Philharmonik can use the scroll wheel. I am one of the few people who doesn't care about this feature so I haven't checked but I think it does on certain formats.... just for you guys. I don't know if ST2.1 does but if not then a future version surely will (if Philharmonik does). SS2 probably will eventually as well but Philharmonik is using an engine beyond 2.1 already... which of course hints at what might come NEXT. You never know. But, these products inter-relate. Some day SampleTank 2 will be able to read all of Miroslav Philharmonik's sounds so you can imagine... can't say more than that which you can already deduce.

Hey, one of things that the next big update of Sonik Synth 2 will do is provide an absurd amount of pads and vintage synths so if there is a sound in the factory preset bank of any popular synth or virtual instrument (from Atmosphere to Motif to Triton to JV etc etc) then let us know. Request a patch or patches like it and perhaps we'll put that in! This should be fun. :D We may not get exact but we can give you guys more of what you want! We aim to please. ;)

Oh, wouldn't it be cool for dance music if you had BPM sync on the LFOs? :D So, expect some pulstaing rhythmic pads too.

Cool....Thanks for the clarification, Squids! :)

Hmm, I wonder if synths/romplers from the late 80s and early 90s qualify as "vintage"

If they do, then here's a quick list.

Korg M1: "Universe". Haha that was the default preset combi I think and probably the only M1 sound I can remember. Actually I made a fair replica using SS2 sounds already but would be nice to have the real thing if possible :)

Roland U20: "Strings". My first rompler and how I wish I hadn't sold it. Ah well. But what I remember is the smoothest strings sample for its time. May not have been that realistic but it sure was nice :)

Korg Wavestation: "Deep Atmosphere". I still own this synth - how could I sell this one ? Answer I could not of course. Anyway, rather than sample this particular preset, what I'd like are perhaps more subtle floaty/swishy and/or tinkly sounding and possibly evolved sound 'elements' that I can layer with any basic pad-style sample (choir/strings/analog/whatever) thus to be able to create custom sounds of the type embodied by "Deep Atmosphere".
